Psyc evaluation freaking out
Arts137 replied to AshWalker's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just be honest. Say that you are anxious! They are trying to discover who might be emotionally unable to deal with the changes in your post-sleeve life. Remember this is forever; you can't get your stomach re-inserted. Example, a lady who ate orange peels, and kept creating bezoars that required surgical interventions. Not a good sleeve candidate! -
No, this is not 'normal', but it's not rare either. Discuss with your surgeon or Nut. Are you taking a PPI???
-
Our NUT guides by height. I am tall and my goal is 100. Smallest amount is 60, for folks who are short.

Yeppers... to Laura... Eat slowly (it matters) and your body will tell you... Some just feel full... some say they gat a warning burb... The GOOD news is you will ID your own signals and be able to do this SOON.

Yes, it's a slow slog. But as Confucius says, "No journey is too far as long as you do not stop"

Estimated caloric intake BEFORE and AFTER surgery?
Arts137 replied to Reigo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
6 weeks our & I don't know. My NUT wants me to focus ONLY on protein and hydration for the first 2 months. -
If you still have nausea, and are vomiting and have diaherra, please see your team. Fix that first and you WILL be better. PS, your stomach has not stretched or grown back.
-
Keep the protein up! It WILL help.
-
We are asked to wait at least 6 months. Two reasons: (1) avoud alcohol's irritating effects on your new stomach, and (2) avoid transferring your 'addiction' from food to alcohol. That said, 'one' won't kill you.

Maybe just getting vertical will help in the AM. My "rule of thumb" is to stop the pain Rx as soon as the symptoms from taking the Rx are worse than the pain... I did so about 5 days out, as I recall.
-
My highest BMI was 52. Surgery was fine. Staying fat was gonna kill me, not the surgery... Good luck.

Arts137 replied to Rachel's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Hmm, this is background, but I'd discuss with your NUT: http://www.livestrong.com/article/312924-protein-shakes-for-the-lactose-intolerant/ -
Not slow at all
-
Wellll, build in stalls to your plans. We ALL get them and they rarely match up with our goals! You are close and WILL get there, so I hope that will be OK... You'll get there!
-
It's all over the map. I felt OK, but was very tired! All I can say is try to have a seat available, work in the shade and DO NOT get dehydrated! Best of luck, coach!

When you wander about in the threads here you'll find this is pretty common. That said, remember that the sleeve helps your body lose weight but it doesn't help your HEAD to lose weight. "NotLookinBack" has given some good advice. The sooner you can start to beat your brain into submission, the better! Good Luck!!!
-
It'll happen... Soon you'll be able drink, and then it's down to remembering...
-
While doing nutritian classes, you'll likely need to see some specialists and get some tests. Once all are done it'll likely be pretty fast (for approval). Surgery time depends on your MDs schedule... But you can learn a LOT in the six months that WILL help you after!

Well I don't wear bras, but I know what man-boobs are...

It does not look as if you are doing anything wrong! It looks like you're on the right flight path!
