OK, I am not an OB/GYN, but this appears to be more cycle/hormone and water weight issues. If so, YES see your MD! The good news is you are NOT gaining fat... and water weight can leave as quickly as it comes!
-
Why did you delay?
-
18 lbs in the first 2 weeks and a gain in week 3!?

water weight isn't fat and it's NOT likely that you added 3# of fat! -
Our heads are a mess. I do not see what others see...
-
It is hard. REMEMBER that you are detoxing from a high sugar and carb and fat life. It WILL get better, and usualylly is not crazy hard after 3 or 4 days. BUT it's important, and remember that post sleeve you will need to be very much IN CONTROL of your eating. This is not magic. Hang tough.

sooner is better than later!

I was right after surgery, (likely the pain Rx). Any new creams, soaps? Any new foods?
-
You have your head in the game. You'll be a winner... Stay in control. My wife was a bit similar, she was concerned. She HAS settled down when she saw that "I got this".

Where should I start?

Consider getting "The Big Book of the Gastric Sleeve". It helped me... -
Somewhere between 1 and holy S***. BUT the odds are 2 or 3 based on the experiences here... though there have been some "11"s.

It's OK to feel funky and have crazzzzy emotions... And it is hard, especially with taking care of kiddies... And now the real struggle begins. It's the battle with your head... Fight it, girl... -

Uh Oh... be gentile Laura...

whatever you select, remember the cardinal rules... (1) at least 20 gm protein and (2) low sugar! I use Unjury.
-
hey, doin great. Shoot, I gained a LOT of water weight after surgery, so be happy!
-
hmmmmmm... hmmmmmm... This is a puzzler?! OK so ghrelin ain't doin it... the other help is to "feel full" (satiety). This will Not happen on protein shakes. This is the dense protein, with NO liquids before, during, after the meal. Does that help at all???

Regain? Is it easier to get on top of after surgery?
Arts137 replied to spangebabe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey Angela, As I understand it, the immediate post-surgical period is helped by the elimination of the part of the stomach that produces the hunger hormone 'ghrelin'. Many of us have less physical hunger, at least for a while. Later you learn to feel satiety by getting full on less food, and that is forever. That said, the sleeve is a tool and the BIGGEST and never-ending battles will be with your own head demons. You can "eat around" the sleeve and regain the weight if you do not focus, pay attention, and keep your head in the game. I also recommend the "Big Book of the Gastric Sleeve" And keep with us. -
I'm new to this...think I'm doing this right?
Arts137 replied to mlk's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Little one, GLAD you are here. Yes, it can spiral out of control!!! The sleeve is there forever, but you CAN "eat around" it. This is a HEAD battle that we all face. My suggestion... for two weeks go back to liquids (including Protein supps)... to "re-engage" And 50 pounds aint shabby!!! Let's keep it off!
