I call "drinking 64 oz water" BS
Arts137 replied to Damaris67's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Great topic and discussion by folks with a STRONG opinion on both sides. I drinks me Water, and I pee clear. The rule I break is -- I still drink coffee, well 1/2 and 1/2 with decaf, black. Reminds me of an old saying... "I like my women the way I like my coffee: cold and bitter". Bwa ha ha... -

No liquids with meals
Arts137 replied to Michelle Martin-Trotter's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Satiety! By not drinking with meals the food stays in your tummy longer and you feel fuller... longer. It IS a different way to eat, but you will get used to it, and if you feel full you might not eat!!! Mind puzzle that I've seen on You Tube but can't find: set 2 funnels in 2 tall glasses, side by side. Add 1 cup of applesauce to each funnel. Now to One funnel, add 1/2 cup of Water and see how fast the funnel empties! -

Hmmm, how bout that! Do you recall if your surgeopn said: -- I want you to lose at least 5 pounds, or -- I want you to lose exactly 5 pounds, or -- I want you to lose no more than 5#? Betting it was the first. If so, cutting off carbs entirely might help. At least for me, carbs make me hungry, but folks are different...

2 weeks out..have a food question
Arts137 replied to Emilysmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes you will. A "meal" will be about 6 to 8 oz after everything is stable. Remember the "rules"... no liquid with meals, Protein first, and smile (well that last one is more a guideline). I am about 10 weeks out and I can drink normallt, and eat in the 5-6 oz range... -
Unjury has a really NO flavor powder...

Handful of vitamins and coffee for breakfast?
Arts137 replied to soocalchic's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
OK you wild women (and coffee is my own rule-breaker as well) What about the need for early day Protein? So I do a Protein shake before I leave for work (a 74 mile drive) at godforsaken AM, and stop for my now black coffee 1/2 decaf at our "Wawa". Then with Mr. radio, I am ready... -
well, tell one person and you've told 'em all... Me? To forestall rumors ("like "Have you heard, he's got cancer", I just told anyone who asked. But you decide for you and it'll be RIGHT!!

There's a BIG thread on this. ME? I only used (1) a robe to cover my butt for walks, and (2) an iPOD for music and (3) toothpaste and toothbrush. Don't overpack, IMHO. Wear LOOSE clotes in and the same out. Home??? Water and a comfy spot...

I call "drinking 64 oz water" BS
Arts137 replied to Damaris67's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Best of luck. You can make decisions about your life. That said, 64 oz of liquid ain't much! -
Focus on your weightloss story. Focus on what you have tried to do to lose weight. Explain how your obesity effects your daily activities. Just make it heartfelt.

You have to stay away from the snack for AT LEAST 4 days for it to get patterned into your brain. Try the most water you can drink instead of pretzles. Or, go to bed... Good luck. And praying is good, trying is good. Doing is better. Remember what Yoda teaches: "There is no try. There is only do or not do.

Try NOT to worry and try NOT to compare yourself with another. It'll Always work out and if you follow your plan you will lose weight as fast as your body can...
