how does this play out?
Arts137 replied to scootergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, my bougie was a 40. BUT, in my case I am not sure I've never known what "hunger" is/was. I just ate all the time. Now I have a routine and I stick to it, because I am personally convinced that "Skippy", my evil brain, is crazy and tells me to eat all the time. -
Bwa Ha Ha! Freud, I guess. Must come from the thread on Phentermine Where, I assume that moist is a good thing.
-
moist of us. Tell us where you "are" in terms of the program. AND in the preop diet through (at least) the first month strange hormones, fatigues, healing, regret, and life often make us ALL a mess in our special way.
-
I think we all have "fat" tatooed somewhere in our minds. It takes us ALL a lot of mind work. I know that I have lost 80# and to me I look exactly the same.

Sleeved on August 15th
Arts137 replied to yvonne1208's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
everyone is differnt. Don't worry, your stomach is not the same. Follow your plan. That said, I bet you'll "experiment" and find your limits (I think we all do). And the limits will be a wake up call... -

almost 2 months post op. need some encouragement

Yes darlin, hey you are from Jersey, you can handle anything if you can handle Jersey! OK, step back... Plan your routine (I get a strong sense that you want and need the routine, I understand... I do too)... SO, plan it and follow it strictly for a few days. You can also take a "step back"... find the Protein supplement that works and go liquid only for a week or so... For me, avoiding carbs, 'specially simple carbs, is very important. They make be tired and HUNGRY!!! My day is liquid, protein and veggies... And you'll do great. Get up on that horse and ride!!! -

Arts137 replied to chrissythemoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Doctor Who (of course), and Doc Martin, and ALL the great detectives like Wallender and Endevor, and Sherlock... The Brits seem to use real people rather than super models... Come ON Brits, answer this nice person! -
I call "drinking 64 oz water" BS
Arts137 replied to Damaris67's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well I think that this version makes more sense... "You can lead a horse to drink, but you can't make it water." -
whadda ya mean that stuff on the internet ain't the truth???
-
RIGHT, after surgery don't make yourself crazier than your basline level of crazy. Recover from surgery Get liquids in Increase Protein And more to the point of the thread... stop touching the darned fire.

Sigh I am not British (though all my ancestors were). Nevertheless I watch a great deal of BBC America, so that should count for something. -
hehehe, yep, "Free Aversion Therapy". But think and maybe skip the experiment next time. Might not be worth it!
-
If you are Dxd with OSA, and are using CPAP, I doubt that you'll need a do-over. But in the end ALL the approval pre-requirements are up to your insurance carriers and the Docs... Your NUT and associated work will focus on your post-sleeve life and are IMHO -- important. Don't rush, the time is well spent and you will be in this for the rest of your life!!!

I had the same hopes. I am about 10 weeks out from surgery. What I have realized is that I have NO IDEA what it is to be hungry. In the "before time" I just ate all the time, so I was NEVER hungry. Now I can't tell the difference between mental and physical hunger. SO, I just keep to the plan, assume it's ALL in my head and fight to succeed! Here's hoping that ghrelin helps...

Legs fall asleep at bedtime post surgery
Arts137 replied to lissette86's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hmmmm, listen I am not a doctor. That said, the lower extremities are 'serviced' by the nerves coming out of the spine, so it's not nerve related. HOWEVER, clots are possible, and calf/leg pain is a symptom. Pay attention, if the pain gets worse or if you start a fever call MD immediately. AND tell your surgeon at follow-up. -
It's you, and you are normal. Just follow the program and we'll see you at the inevitable stall!!
-
Our Heads Are Dysfunctional. I have lost 80 # and look exactly the same to myself. In my view, however, you are beautiful. You look exactly like you.
-
lettach is no problem for me (10 weeks out). I make sure I chew it well. I do not often have salad, since my focus is Protein!!!
-
Yes, everyone has an opinion... My program says stay away... period. So I am trying, since I do want coffee and after 6 months will have some wine... I will pass on carbonation (even champagne)
-
YES that is possible. My highest weight was 423 and I am now 331, so about 80 pounds. I have a long path to get to 200 to 225. And I might not need CPAP later, but let me tell you, it does NOT interfere at all with my sleep, so I might just keep using the CPAP...
