Also, call the gym and explain your nervousness: (1) they can tell you the 'quieter' periods are while you get started and till you are used to being there, -- you might be surprised at their supportiveness... also (2) ask for a trainer to help teach you the machines. You'll want an appointment and you may need to pay extra (and you sure can tip). Knowledge is POWER.

Well done, partner! -
You are driving yourself "round the bend". And like the two above have said, YOU ARE DOING GREAT. Hide the daggone scales and just focus on liguids and protein. You are still healing... Heal, practice and IGNORE the weight...

If preggo you will need to work doubly hard on your nutrition that is all. Babies DO happen (often when least expected.

How so you get through the hard times?
Arts137 replied to Angie!!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
AMEN! This happens to many as you heal and the changing hormones resettle. It WILL get better. If not better soon, talk to your MD too, and re-read what Kirk said, above! -
I feel hungry after I got sleeved yesterday
Arts137 replied to soyfpine0405's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is it hunger? I never knew physical hunger since I ate all the time (before). It SURE can be mental hunger, and some have more and some less after surgery. In any case, dring water and beat your evil brain into submission. -
Your stomach will be smaller. And you may have hormone changes that help (Ghrelin). But it is not magical and your stomach is NOT your brain. You (we) MUST deal with our brain, up to and including TV ads. Whenever I see food on TV, it goes in my mental book of "Don't go there"... "EVER!
-
It won't kill you. It WILL make you want more, then more, then more. This is your chance to get control of your evil brain (I call my evil brain "Skippy".) Skippy WANTS you to eat. But YOU want to be in control and shrink your liver. AND post surgery, you might have a nasty surprise or two or three if you let Skippy win.

Arts137 replied to pim4life's topic in Insurance & Financing
Check the benefits book. They cover but have pre-op requirements and approvals that will take about 6 months. -
Still do ALL the fun stuff with family and friends, but just try to not make food the "honored great guest of honor"
-
Well neuropathy ain't no fun. Period! Unless it's a varient of gastroparesis (like from DM) I am unsure why the sleeve with have any impact one way or another (and strangely, I read that the sleeve may be a good option for folks with diabetic gastroparesis!)

Is there *really* a honeymoon period?
Arts137 replied to musiclover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The honeymoon will last as long as you want it to last. In other words, manage your food and activity and you will lose. Decide that M&Ms are good for lunch with a Coke, and maybe not. And I lose slowly as well, but no journey is to long as long as you do not stop. -
What Mokee said.

Sure, everyone has this. How much did you lose presurgery? And you've lost 10 pounds in three weeks. Not Too Shabby!
-
There's a BIG thread with suggestions. Pack and move most of it back to the dresser and closet. Take your CPAP (if you have one) and a robe. Everything else is optional!

Relax, the stress won't help. Nothing has stretched. Just focus on Proteins and liquids. PS, is work a source of stress for you?

Any of the 'good' Rx pain killers might be increasing the itch as well...
