    Nausea :(

At 14 weeks this seems too long???!!! Are you getting your liquids in? Have you seen your MD???
  2. Arts137

    Is this normal

How many days post surgery? Folks are different, but if you are in your first two weeks than this is not too uncommon. Discuss with your surgeon at your follow-up! Remember, the order is liquids (hydration), then Protein. It'll come.

I must look like a creeper, stalker girl

yep. I reckon we are all in this together...
  4. To all the answers above: AMEN!

    S T R E S S........

Darlin, your list is long and tough! And my reaction to stress is to eat. Good luck, and my ONLY advice is to kick the soda!!!

    My journey

YEP! But if you are ready to work at it, you'll do fine!
  7. I am 6'3" . Heaviest 423, at surgery 366, now 331 (3 months out). Have a long way yet, but "no journey is too long as long as you don't give up".

    Nervous

It was neither easy nor automatic. I "gave in" at some point during the pre-op months and started to cut down on my 'not good with the sleeve' habits. coffee (caffinated), all carbonation, simple carbs. Thankfully I was never a smoker. I began tracking foods, I started on this Board to learn what I could from other's experiences. I researched a LOT (and even watched a lot of sleeve surgeries on You Tube. At some point I realized that the things that I "had to give up" were the things that were killing me. This made it a LOT easier, friend! Lastly, post sleeve I have had lots of social events, etc. and I participated FULLY. The only difference? food was not the be-all, end-all of the gathering for me. i.e. I was acting more like a normal person (and all in all I am pretty Abnormal)!

    Cottage cheese....?

    It's considered pureed, so...
  10. Nope, any research to support this "conclusion"?

    No soda? Need suggestions...

    Yep! http://www.provostbariatrics.com/weight-loss-surgery-success-life-after-carbonated-drinks/
  12. Most of us had a long wait, so we can sympathize! Personally, when I realized that part of this entire thing is Real Change, I started to make changes and so was really ready by the surgery date. Start now. Cut out cigarrettes (sp), reduce and then eliminate caffine. Reduce and eliminate carbonation, start focusing on protein and getting water in... Use the time to be a winning loser!

    Can't stop losing!

and also if this does not turn atound (after the mouth heals), consider talking to a therapist. See (in the research thread) an article I posted about obesity and anorexia...
  14. If it's grazing, can you stop? Do you need a jumpstart? Maybe go on full liquids and work back into your plan? But you know that grazing has gotta stop!

Two thoughts... a Quaker saying: "Way will open". It's always true, but it's certainly not always easy... and from Winston Churchill: "If you find yourself going through Hell, keep going."
  16. research this site. See what your insurance requires pre op and will pay for. Start NOW to work on your head issues (cause the sleeve won't fix that!). AND ask any questions anytime.

    how much damage....?

I ain't gonna beat you up! Just think. You want to be normal! But then ask yourself "do normal people put food at the tippy top of every party, vacation, every DAY?" Go on the cruise and have fun. Maybe try to be a 'normal person' and put food in it's proper place. Have FUN, and walk around the deck!
  18. I was tired for a few weeks, and slept/napped, but it DOES get better!
  19. Not looking down on anyone (ever)... we ALL have our own crosses to bear. But on this board I balance heartfelt support with brutal truth. If we fat folks can't be honest with other fat folks...

    Week 2 Post-Op

I am 3 months out and have hummas most every day!
  21. Arts137

    Leak?

And you really do need to ponder what you can do to get your head in the game. I guarantee that string cheese or crackers are a LONG way out after surgery, no matter how much you want (or believe you) need them. I am not worried about the sleeve. I am worried about you. Please keep us posted.
  22. Try different temperatures, and different non-caloric (and non-carbonated) liquids, and different "size" sips.
  23. Best of luck, and I mean it. If this works for you as your lifestyle then WONDERFUL. I suggest, however, for most of us this is not the way to bet...
