Does anyone miss being overweight?

I think what I mean is while "obviously seen" whilst fat, the ONLY thing they see is the fat... and nothing else. That's the "invisable" I mean... -

OK, question for you. Will you be able to drink it black? Here's why: http://beta.active.com/articles/calorie-count-in-fancy-coffee-drinks-can-come-as-a-jolt I got to 100% decaf before surgery and am bact to 1/2 regular and 1/2 decaf now, but on my plan it's black, therefore 0 calories.

Arts137 replied to WesLosesIt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope, your take home might better be that there are many programs, so follow yours! IMHO, the most important thing is to keep your mind in the game and get and keep control of bad eating habits. -
Does anyone miss being overweight?

I have been fat and thin many times. I think when fat all people see is 'the fat guy', So I am invisable. At times that is good. But not good enough to stay fat. Anyway now I am old and can use 'the old guy' as cover! :-) -
Another 63er here. My weight loss (90# overall from my highest) has helped my knees...

Yep. I think many of us go through this 'cosmic joke', but time will pass and from the 'other side' it will seem short! Maybe work on all your getting ready stuff while you wait? Things like reducing soda and caffine, no smoking, Protein rich food, etc. This too shall pass!

Now you are a Happy Story for us all!!!

A couple things, the gastric study will be a piece of cake. They'll get you ready (and if real nervous they can give you a 'calm' pill, so ask for it if needed) and then they'll say 'are you ready/", and then you'll wake up and it's over. Great practice for the sleeve surgery! As for the sleep study, there are MANY kinds, work with your pulmonologist for the type that your insurance will pay for. The most common signs and symptoms of obstructive and central sleep apneas include: Excessive daytime sleepiness (hypersomnia) Loud snoring, which is usually ... read full answer on mayoclinic.com Common sleep apnea symptoms include: Waking up with a very sore or dry throat Loud snoring Occasionally waking up with a choking or gasping sensation ... read full answer on webmd.com -

Follow the MD's advice. The Great News is that the sleeve can positively (and immediately) impact your status...
-
Oh gosh! All I can say is we are with you.

Some surgeons require a blood test for smoking in the last 30 days. If positive, no surgery, SO you might want to check with your surgeon!

Waiting is the hardest part....

Learn all you can about what life will be like "post sleeve" and ... stopp smoking, eliminate carbonated drinks, get water in, and convert your food intake to proteins and veggies first. Use this time to practice and (from the other side) time will have flown by. -
