  1. I generally approve and am a ginormous SKEPTIC about most things. But in this weight loss battle, let's admit something... We are FAT, we got fat through our own behaviors. Nobody did this to us. So... Maybe for just a little while, give up on your skepticism -- since your fat brain does not want you to do this -- and just BLINDLY follow the program? Jusat sayin'

    Why?

yep... I had lost almost 100# pounds before I thought I saw me a weeee bit smaller. We got fat brains
  3. Yep it seems forever... Like Christmas for a 6 year old on December 15... But use the time well. You will wnd with a full physical assessment, and the classes can teach you A LOT. Also... start to get ready... stop smoking... reduce caffine to zero reduce and end carbonated drinks think, plan and be active, as much as you can PROMISE not to go through food funerals... start to eat healthy, and you might lose weight! even before surgery Surgery is a good help, but (IMHO) your real work will be in your own brain...

Gmanbat was the right combination of soft, sweet and hard. Quit darlin... quit and quit for good.
  5. It was a black tie affair... nah... something loose... that you can also wear home. I skipped the bra too.

    Enabling

JEEBUS... pizza, cookies... Well the good news is that the pictures got no calories. And as me Mother would say about "wanting" "If wanting were horses, beggars would ride"

    Failing My Sleeve..

Get strict. Start liquid and then puree, and continue. Don't let your fat brain win. But you MUST find a way to get in control.

    Can't Believe I Did That!

everyone pushes the envelop, but those that do so over and over may not get the benefit of the sleeve long term. You (we) have an evil fat brain. It is not fixed in two weeks, two months, two years. You will be in battle with your fat brain for a looooong time.

What's The Deal With Caffeine Post Op?

I cut to 1/2 and 1/2 decaf to all decaf before surgery. Then nothing for 2 weeks before & after Then back to caf/decaf mix. I make sure I get a lot of Water in and... it's the only drug I got left.

    Eggs....

When there is a food you cannot tolerate, just put it aside for a month... Then try again. Things do get easier...

    When Will Enough Be Enough?

Remember one thing. We are all generally in a pathological relationship with food. So pay attemtion. I STRONGLY recommend the following article: http://thebypassedlife.com/eating-disorders-and-weight-loss-surgery/

    Self Sabotage

I have found (and it might be an old (or young) wive's (or husband's) tale) that... where was I? OH. I have found that if I eat at "x" time today... that for the next 4 days I will want that same food at the same time. SO... I am pretty strict and fight to avoid setting myself up for the never-ending cravings. And my dinner is at 6:00PM and I allow no more food or drink after that... ever, and like Butter, if it gets too bad, it's bedtime (that'll teach me)

    Gah! I Just Want Food!

Neither dreaming nor thinking adds calories. Eating does. Fight the fat brain.

    Warning Kinda Gross

I lost hair at from 2 to 4 months. But fine thereafter...
  18. Three years old. Oh Man, I got stoned and I missed it... Having grown up in the sixties, let me remind you that "Dope will get you through times of no money better than money will get you times of no dope". That said, I have been "down to seeds and stems again" for a long time... I reformed. I never repented.

Man, I Just Can't Wait To Have Surgery!

Hang in there Round. I spent 7 years commuting on Mr. Amtrack, so your tale of woe makes me shiver with bad memories!

    Are You Nervous?

I firmly believe that one should NOT have the surgery unless they are sure they want and can follow the required life afterwards. As in most things, the surgery is generally safe and effective, but life, well, life is hard!
  21. Smo Smo Sooper Smooth. 5 month out. Little post op discomfort. Only one episode of the "slimies" and a little lingering fatigue, but all in all physically AOK.
