Anyone gain muscle similar to fitness model figure?
Arts137 replied to Mommysonadiet's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mommy, Not me, before OR after. (and I am sure you are as lovely now as you were in your picture AND that you will be lovely after you lose your weight!) -
TOTALLY depends on your surgeon's practice. My drain was pulled right before my discharge.

I waited 6 months for wine, and it was OK. I will remain fairly strict during the holidays and focus on the family and the love rather than the food. That's just me!

Stalled after the first week?
Arts137 replied to LynRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It took me two weeks to get back to my pre-surgical weight!!! We are all so very different. Just keep on keeping on with your program (and don't weigh!) -
Good! Though I admit I am partial to calling in sick. The conversation might go something like this: "Hello? I don't think I can make it in today. I have a touch of the Irish Potato Famine."

When Life Gets In The Way Of The Sleeve
Arts137 replied to No game's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What a WONDERFUL thread. Historically, the stress of work has been my nemisis. Not this time, I shall retire very soon, for LOTS of reasons, but a big one will be to permit me to focus on me without the work stressors. And every day is planning, is work, every day, so, to quote from Happiness Stan: he ploddy- ploddy forward into the deep thunder-mould of the complicating Forrie to sortin' it this one out, matey. -
Have BC/BS Federal... After all said and done I guess I have from $1 to $2,000 in out of pocket expenses, mostly in the prep visits and tests!

Pear shaped succes. Is it possible?
Arts137 replied to CrazyJaney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, though not of a female persuasion, can I add...? Some (much) of our basic shape comes from our genes, and we are stuck with that! We also change as we normally age. So, we'll be healthy but not all of us will be models for Aberchrombie... -

3 weeks post-op: Pizza and Pasta?!
Arts137 replied to EarthyGoalie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
OK, nonody is perfect. But at age 64 I am old and crochity enough to say the truth. My "flaw" is coffee, but I really don't do ANY sweets or simple carbs. I can't. I am a addict and it MESSES ME UP a lot more that the temporary joy. So, while some might "cheat and stay silent". I hope not. And I don't. -
Why Do I Feel So Down Today.
Arts137 replied to nancy264's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nancy, be good to yourself, dear. Nobody is perfect. Don't let your imperfections make you give up. Try your best, it's all any of us can do... -

Pssssst, hey buddy, want some cake? RJ's, I believe the focus is on high glycemic foods... refined sugars and processed foods.

Yep, why NOT eat like this for the rest of our lives? I am glad that some can be balanced. I cannot be. I am a junkie and MUST avoid the junk, of the entire fat cycle will start over again!

Anyone Else Think That They'll Be The One That Will Die?!?
Arts137 replied to Sabredy12's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
After all my research I -- in the end -- could be comforted only with the realization that only the good die young. and I ain't so good. -
Federal BC/BS, and they might be different. Took six months to get through the medical and educational requirements. My out of pocket costs were around $1,000 whaen all was said and done. Find there web page and research their bariatric surgery coverage!
