the sleeve and reflux?
Khloé replied to VSG4aHealthierMe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have severe GERD. Both my pcp and surgeon have told me that 90% of patients with reflux have it resolved after the sleeve, but that there is a 5% chance it'll get worse and a 5% chance that it'll get better but not completely go away. I figure a 95% chance of improvement is better than nothing at all, especially if the GERD is caused from being overweight to begin with. -
April 8th got my date whoop whoop.. anyone else....?
Khloé replied to ~newnew13~'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations on all your April dates! I'm scheduled for April 8th, as well. I moderate a facebook group for April 2013 Sleevers. If you would like to join us, we would love to have you. We have a group of very supportive, encouraging, wonderful people. -
I just sent you a friend request. Once you accept, I'll manually add ya to the group.

The pill is a bit larger than an eraser of a pencil. It's a ppi so I'm not sure if this one can be crushed or not. I, of course, know that I'll have to run this by my surgeon for his approval, but for now, I was wondering what you all thought. Here is a photo of the pill. As you can see, it is oval in shape and slightly larger than the eraser of a pencil.

How long can you sleep at a time once you're discharged from the hospital? I know that probably sounds like a weird question, but I'm doing all that I can do to prevent blood clots. My doctor wants me up and walking around at least once every one to two hours, so I was wondering how long is it ok for me to sleep post-op for the first couple of months without getting up to walk around and get a little activity going?

Crap! asdfghjkl; facebook! Ok, I'll add you to my friend's list and then, once you accept, I'll manually add ya to the vsg group. I'm Khloe.

You sure can! I just sent you one. If you don't receive it, please let me know and then we'll have to add ya to the group the other way. Facebook is being a butt lately.

Just saw it and replied.

It has been doing that lately, and I have no idea why. It makes me want to kick it. I just sent you a friend request so I can manually add you to the group.
-
I sure will! Just sent you an invitation to your e-mail inbox. Please let me know if you did not receive it and/or if you have any trouble accessing the group.

Just sent you an invitation to your e-mail inbox. Please let me know if you did not receive it and/or if you have any trouble accessing the group. You couldn't find it because it's a secret group, and only members can see it. It helps protect our privacy from family and friends. Sort of like a "secret society." Just sent you an invitation to your e-mail inbox. Please let me know if you did not receive it and/or if you have any trouble accessing the group.

I sent you a friend request so I can manually add you to the group. It won't let me send you another email invitation. Once you accept the friend request, then I can add you to the group.

My family lives in a condo on the second story of the building. No elevator, just stairs. I walked up a couple of stairs (we lived elsewhere) after the birth of my son, who was born via c-section. Should I be worried about having to climb a flight of stairs the day or two days after I'm sleeved? Like, is it painful and/or hard to do that soon after having your stomach cut out? I was fine after my c-section and the incision was much lower on my abdomen, so I figure I'd be ok with the sleeve/stairs thing. Just wanted to see how your experiences went. Thanks!

My plan has two phases: stage 1 is liquids and stage 2 is soft foods. No pureed or mushy phase. The plan says I can have lean ground meats (beef, chicken, turkey) on day #22, but doesn't say anything about meat sticks or beef jerky. I'm assuming that I shouldn't eat pepperoni or jerky until I'm on full foods. When did you you turkey pepperoni/regular pepperoni sticks?

We have a facebook group for April 2013 sleevers. If anyone would like to join, please send me your e-mail address associated with your facebook and I'll send you an invitation to join. It's all secure and no one on your friend's list will be able to see that you're apart of the group, that the group exists, or any of the postings in the group.

Nuke a Hershey bar in the microwave for a couple of seconds 'til it's soft. Then it counts as a soft food, right? Just kidding! Please don't do that. I was going to say a chocolate Protein shake, but these ladies beat me to it.

Where does weight go?
Khloé replied to BigDaddyJoe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Laughed so hard at this. I concur.
