It's a separate group that shows up under the "Groups" section when you're logged into your facebook. It's separate from your newsfeed and personal facebook profile. None of your family and friends can see it. Only members of the group can see it. And, in order to be a member, you have to be added by a moderator. Because it is a "Secret" group, it doesn't show up in any searches. No one can see anything unless they are in the group. Most of our members are keeping their surgeries secret from the majority of their family & friends. It's a totally safe support group.

It is indeed a private group. No one on your facebook friend's list will be able to see anything. I'm not telling people about my surgery either, so I understand the importance of privacy.
