When Does the Left-Side Pain Go Away?
Khloé posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm post-op day 17 today, and woke up with lots of pain on my left side. It's not unbearable, but it's an aching, nagging soreness that is getting on my dang nerves. If I sneeze, it hurts. Same if I cough or blow my nose. I haven't had this pain like this for several days now. I'm thinking I may have overdone it yesterday. I seem to remember chasing/being chased by my 2 year old son. Just curious as to when I can expect this pain to go away completely. For now, it's back to taking liquid Lortab. Bah. -
I'm thinking about starting a facebook page for all of us April sleevers to keep each other accountable. If I were to do this, would anyone be interested in joining? Sometimes it's difficult to keep up with all the messages on the original April thread. Just wondering. EDIT: I went ahead and made the group. It is a "Secret" group to protect the privacy of those of us who aren't telling friends & family about our procedure. No one outside of the group will be able to see the group itself, who is a member, and the posts therein. To be added, please pm (private message me) the e-mail address you have associated with facebook, and I will send you an invitation right away. The invite will be from Khloé. https://www.facebook...pril2013VSGers/

I'm only 17 days post-op but I've already noticed a difference. My cycle has gone from being 40+ days (sometimes over 120 days in length) to being 28 days long as of yesterday! I don't want to get too far ahead of myself and count it as a victory since I'm not even a month out yet, but I'm so, so excited to see that my body is doing something normal for a change. How far out are you?

Haha, it's ok. Just sent you a request.

Pretty sure I hit my 3 week stall a week early. I'm thinking it has something to do with me losing 20 lbs on my pre-op diet + 18 lbs the first week and a half post-op. I'm averaging between 59 and 77 grams of Protein per day and getting in all of my fluids (60+ oz), so I'm pretty sure that's not it. I haven't even started pureed or soft foods yet, just liquids. And, for me, that is Protein shakes, Water, and an occasional 12 oz bottle of G2. I'll have Soup broth a couple of nights a week if I'm feeling it. Any ideas on how to break it? I'm pretty sure this has been posted several times, but I can't seem to find the post.

April 8th, for me. I go from being ecstatic to terrified.
-
My NUT just e-mailed me back and told me that I can take gummy vites but that I need to add a b1 thiamin supplement to it, because the gummies don't contain thiamin so I will be at risk for thiamin defiency. Woohoo! Small victories. Going to start taking them on Friday after I confirm w/ my surgeon that I can go ahead and take them since I'm still on liquids.

I'm almost 2 weeks out. My surgeon wants me to crush all my medications for now. Not sure why they want chewable vites, though. I'll find out at my check-up on Friday. I originally bought the Bariatric Advantage chewable multivites after they (Bariatric Advantage/Catalina Lifesciences) ENSURED me that none of their products contain fish or seafood (both, of which, I'm allergic to + iodine.) They're liars. Once I got the bottle and opened it, I realized it said it contains fish in the allergen label. I was so mad! Over $20 wasted for no reason. So frustrated!

I'll send ya a private message. It's privacy settings are set to "Secret" so you can't view it unless you're a member. That way all of our members that aren't telling people about their surgeries won't have to worry about others finding out. The link is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/April2013VSGers/

They may not be complete, but it's better than nothing at all, right? And, if your labs come back off, you can always add in a separate Vitamin of whatever you're lacking. Heck, I'll even stick those gummy vites in my Magic Bullet and pulverize the heck out of them. Shouldn't be a problem then. I have a facebook group for March, April, and May 2013 sleevers. It's an awesome support group! If you'd like to join (I saw you're scheduled for the beginning of May), you're more than welcomed to. Those are some of the ones I was looking at! Thanks for the photo. I'll definitely keep them in mind. I don't understand if surgeons approve the calcium chews (like the Bariatric Advantage chewy bites and calcium chews) why gummy multivitamins are such a big deal.

What did it feel like when you woke up from surgery?
Khloé replied to BriDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very sleepy and drugged. I had a hard time waking up. I wasn't in a lot of pain. I had some nagging left side aching pain. I still have it a little over a week out. -
I was sleeved last Monday, April 8th. If I didn't have the accountability of having to meet with my surgical team next week for my check-up, I wouldn't even be drinking Protein shakes at all. I can't stand them post-op. They're all too sweet and rich, and give me a sugar headache and nausea like I've just eaten half a birthday cake by myself - or something equally as rich & sugar-filled. I've tried unflavored protein a couple of times, but it's not sitting well with my new stomach. =\ I feel gross. I don't want to drink anything aside from Smart Water. No soft foods allowed 'til April 30th. Gah. Is it normal for your tastes to change this much after surgery?

I apologize for the delay in adding you. I was sleeved on April 8th, and have been trying to recover. Mostly sleeping. Just sent y'all a friend request and/or invitation to the group. Once you accept, I'll add you into the group.
