You could go the old high school route and wrap some thread or yarn on the underside of the ring until you can get a more permanent fix.

Endoscopy to check for ulcer before sleeve in May
CharmingTortoise replied to kdnhk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my EGD on March 5. It wasn't bad at all. They give you sleepy meds and you don't even know what's going on. By the time I woke up I had no clue anything had happened other than I was groggy. Some people get a little throat irritation but I didn't even have that. My doctor ended up finding a hiatal hernia that he said he'd fix when he went in to do the VSG. I'm wondering if it would matter where the ulcer is as to whether they would do the bypass rather than the sleeve. My simplistic mind thinks that if it's in a spot they are going to remove anyway maybe that would be okay?? I'm not really sure. -
Can someone explain this to me...?

I wonder if she meant because you don't have as much as some folks have to lose? Like you don't need to lose 250 pounds. I'm curious because I am kind of close to your height and weight. There are some great online BMI calculators. This is the one I always use http://nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bminojs.htm. -
So glad someone asked this. Thought I was the only one that worried about it. Would love to see what others have to say.

Sorry to hear your family is being unsupportive. I'm sure in their own way they are trying to be supportive. Luckily, my insurance covers surgery for me but if not, I'd be heading to Mexico too. If your family won't support you, find it elsewhere, come here if you need to. Good luck on your journey! -

Wow, I never thought to ask for pictures of the stomach. I think I definitely will. I have the pictures from my endoscopy so I'll start a little scrapbook of all my medical pictures, lol. I can just see the family gatherings now, "and here's a picture of my hiatal hernia, here's a picture of my stomach that they took out, here's a picture of the staple line..." lol -
It seems kind of squirrely to me if they make it mandatory to buy through them. It probably makes it much easier for compliance though. My tentative date is August 19 with Dr Nagel. We should definitely keeping touch!

What Are You Working On?
CharmingTortoise replied to cherrybombknits's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi all, I am just starting the hoop jumping for WLS. Before I started obsessively researching WLS and all the fun stuff that I'm finding wrong along the way I really like crafting. I love my Cricut and making cards and other paper crafting projects. I also like cross stitching when I can find the time. -
Hi All! I'm from Harbor Springs Michigan. I'm just starting to jump through the hoops and get the process rolling. I am going through Weight Loss Services at Mclaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. I wanted to stop in and say, "hi," to the other Michiganders.
