  1. MommyofFive please go see your neurologist. That is not a normal reaction. My guess is that this may be something not directly related to the botox. Sometimes I have had migraines that occur at the same time as a cluster headaches and a tension headache. It is highly possibly that this you are experiencing a tension headache because they can radiate move a bit. Your symptoms are not normal for Botox. Usually hyper reactions include swelling, and allergic reactions include itching and vomiting. Please go see your Dr. for follow up.
  2. ^ What? I was never sore anywhere. Where exactly did you get it done? Was it by a Dr too? From my experience the results last anywhere from 3-5 months. Some people need things sooner, and others later; but it usually falls around this time frame.

    Slimies. Foamies.

Some people have cues to let them know when to stop, like burping, hiccups, coughing, or sneezing. I sneeze. Just wondering but has anyone had that " I am gonna throw up" feeling and just plowed through the sensations and held everything down without vomiting?
  4. ^ mine didn't do a barium swallow test. I only had the blue dye test while I was under. I also didn't have a drain.

I don't have to LIE anymore!

Well, actually we are all admitting our lies and therefore are NO LONGER lying....LOL
  6. I have tried everything and I was hiving migraines since I was a child. I was having about 2-4 a week. What works really well for me was botox. I see a neurologist who injects botox around my forehead/scalp line, and around the nape of my neck and scalp line. I SWEAR I am headache free for at least 3 months. Sometimes a bit longer but around the 5 month mark I know it is time to go back. Something about the botox temporarily paralyzes the cranial nerves that apply added pressure on our blood vessels. Look into this. Insurance companies have been known to pay for this as it is a medical treatment.

    Crushing meds

Funny... I was told to crush them as mine would wash into my small intestines instead of acting in my stomach for 1st stage of absorption. Additionally, My Dr. said that the pill could take up extra space. Now, my pills are pretty small so I doubted the space issue for me. For my Nexium I still open it up and take it as I did notice the limited acid reflux when I did it this way as opposed to not opening it. Each Dr. is different, LOL

    Kinda Scared

Ok Don't laugh.... When I came to in the recovery room I had asked what time it was. I was in pain but I wasn't sure if the surgery actually happened yet. IN the recovery room while I was on all sorts of pain relieving meds I had quickly decided that I didn't want to o it and I wanted to go home. Of course by that time it was too late and I had successfully completed the surgery. I had regrets the first couple of days... well, maybe not regrets but more of a questioning of my own judgement. Like, "Why did I do this?" and "Why am I putting myself through this torture?" simply because I was not looking at the long term... the bigger picture. My Dr said it and so has Dr. Oz. the benefits of this surgery outweighs the risks of not having it. The minimal pain you experience upfront is NOT a testament to the success you will have long term. All I can advise is that you follow your Dr's guidelines and you will be fine... you will be a success! You all can do this!
  10. While I do not want to take over the OP's thread, I think that simply putting the song name and perhaps the chorus, bridge, or most important lines of the song maybe more helpful in understanding each of our journey's than posting the entire song. With that in mind, I will add that this was merely a suggestion. I love reading this thread, but I hate having to keep scrolling to read the entire song when I really want to read the next post. Sorry Guys... today I have been acting real witchy but I am still trying to remain cordial. Forgive me.....

    ANY APRIL SURGERIES?....

I have noticed that I have to brunch a little more than usual too. I think it is the protein shakes that is coating it. I have been waking up at 2 am to drink 4 oz but it still does not help. I will try drinking gatorade before bed and see if that does anything. Some people on here have said that the thirst was related to dehydration. I don't get that though because I am drinking more NOW than ever before. I think that with weight loss your body needs more water as it does when in ketosis. When the body is in the phase we may experience nights of extreme thirst.

    ANY APRIL SURGERIES?....

Hi everyone, I just have to put it out there that I am very thirsty at night. I drink all day long. My fluid intake (since I am on liquids still) is averaging 102 oz. So as you can guess I am constantly sipping. Has anyone else awoke with a dry mouth and excessive thirst?

    When can we drink soda

Last night I dreamed about having a diet coke. After I drank it, I realized that I shouldn't have it but I felt fine afterwards. LOL Crazy dreams
  16. When I awoke I was in the OR and that was long enough for them to remove my breathing tube.... but I was still very out of it because I don't remember anything other than Asking what time it was and letting EVERYONE know that I was in pain. I was moved to recovery somehow and I was on a PCA attached to my IV, so I could get pain meds every 10 minutes. Around 30 minutes after they initially woke me up in the OR, my husband said that I looked at him and my eyes drifted off in opposite directions. I felt completely dizzy from the meds and the pain is like getting beat up really bad in the stomach (at least for me it was). Around Day 3 it felt more like I did 5000 sit ups. I was unable to eat or drink anything for 1 day to allow the maximum swelling to go down, and quite frankly I really didn't want anything other than a sip of Water. My throat was itchy and my uvula was swollen. The nurses tried to get me up to walk and I swear I could not keep myself up. Both hubby and the nurse had to help me walk for 5 minutes before I turned back to the bed. Also I had a slight fever.

    real Food

The BEST fast food I found is the lunch bar at Whole Foods Market, Sprouts, Barons, Henry's, or Harry's There is such a huge array of very delicious wholesome foods, that it puts MOST fast food places to shame. The Whole Foods near me just opened up a Smoked/BBQ section. So, if I don't want deli, Italian, Asian, or vegetarian, and I can visit the smoked section.

    Wild game?

I have NEVER heard of this. I did hear that Jerky will be harder to digest and may cause constipation. I also heard not to eat nuts, seeds or coconuts.
  20. Where is the family forum? I wish we had one.. Ok here goes. About once a month the entire family has a family gathering. The kids go swimming, play with one another, and of course there is a lot of food. In fact I think the day is centered around grazing all day long and drinking beer/wine. I don't drink beer or wine so I am good there, however, I do not want to be around all that food. The truth is that I love food and the company I have around food. Call me an addict, call me a foodie it doesn't matter. The point is I find it difficult to be around all the food and not sample it. I was the only large one in the family so the rest never had the same issues I had with grazing and weight gain. The smells are enticing and even though I am not hungry.... I still want to sample/snack (head hunger). How can I attend this gathering and not be bothered by the food at 2 weeks post op? I am seriously thinking about not going but I was given some nasty looks by family. Only 1 knows I had the surgery and the others think I had surgery for a hernia (wanted to avoid judgement). Any help is appreciated.

I don't have to LIE anymore!

I KNOW I have done that and I am sure that each attendant looks at me and with an eye roll accepts my 50lb cushion on the license. Just recently I went into Game Stop to pick up a game and I forgot my Power Up card so they needed my license. I looked at it and saw my swollen face and remember the day I too that picture I had just gotten off of a 14 hr flight from Japan. I looked rough. Now, I am 40lbs lighter than in the picture. I jokingly say to the man to not look at my picture as I am sure I don't look like that anymore. His response was, "You look completely different now and much better in person." Weird compliment, but I took a mental note to remind me to update my license.

    How much protein

Mine is between 70-120gm. The closest I have gotten to this and I am 12 days out is 92 grams. Each Dr. is different. Protein shakes made with Kefir.... WOW
  23. I chose Indiana Jones because I feel like I am on an adventure. Ups and Downs.... All sorts of crazy things are thrown my way. LuckysMomma your song choice is VERY appropriate considering what you have been through. I can really relate to being a very social eater.
