Best Flavor Nectar for Water
kulita replied to girlrfriday's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I REALLY wanted to try the Double stuf flavor. What does it taste like exactly? I assume it mixes just as well as the others, right? -
Go buy something super hot to wear that will make head REALLY turn. On a day you feel really low, wear that outfit and it will cheer you right up.

Body issues is something that many people have to deal with. We have felt trapped in out old shape for quite a long time and have become accustomed to it. You have lost a lot of weight and that in itself is a huge victory. Remember, you are no longer that person you used to be. You are no longer defined by food, you are defined by how you see and present yourself; and you are one hot mama with crazy hot tats! Keep on doing what you are doing and be a role model for those who may follow your lead. {{{hugs}}}

Food suggestions for soft food diet?

eggs, tuna/shredded with mayo, cream of wheat, chili with finely grounded beef, canned peaches, applesauce, cheeses (no hard), spam/potted meat, any soups/stews. Basically anything super moist, tender, and soft. Keep all those 3 adjectives in mind and you will be fine. If it is missing one of the 3 then don't eat it. -
^ Yeah,, but I'm only 2.5 weeks out as of today..... wah! it's ok.... soon I will be able to eat it.

Ya know.... sadly enough I wanted to be able to wear their clothes. I mean sex is all over the media and definitely in marketing, and I envision myself as sexy (even when I was huge). Naturally I thought that once I lose a lot of weight I would finally go into those trendy shops where only modelesque people go and buy something tiny from A&F.

I had a 4 night stay. I didn't really have any complications, but I was worried that I wouldn't get in enough Water if I was sent home so soon, and I wasn't having any BM. A lot of people go home the next day and are fine. Just pay very close attention to your body

If you look at my blog post, all about the bougie sizes are explained, and the size of your stomach. I even have a link to a bariatric test to show what your capacity is post op. It is under the size of your new stomach. There are videos too to show how liquids pass through an actual sleeve, and a sleeve right after surgery and one a few years post op.

Best Flavor Nectar for Water

The best lemonade I had was when I mixed Unjury's Strawberry Sorbet with crystal light lemonade. That was like WOW, no texture change and a yummy strawberry lemonade drink. -
Isn't it an odd feeling? I wonder what causes it.

Oh stop Everything will be fine. You got this!

Avocado can help with Stalls / Plateau
kulita commented on kulita's blog entry in Kulita's gathered information & help
lilbearazmom, I thought the same thing. The fact that slightly increasing your caloric intake may be what your body needs to move away from the shock state and think about burning fats again. To top it off it is considered a healthy fat! What I used to do prior to surgery was make tuna fish sandwiches with avocados instead of mayo. It doesn't look the greatest but it is OMG yummy! newat52, where are you now? I am sure you can still get avocados. The Hass ones from Mexico might not be available everywhere but the more giant ones (like in Florida) maybe. -
That exact feeling happened to me when I drank 1/2 of a green machine smoothie from Naked. I felt that every sip I took was putting me over the edge. It took me about 2 hours before I noticed that it started to move through and into my intestines and 4 hours by the time I could feel like I could have a shake again.

How are you all getting your vitamins in?
kulita replied to princesstia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
^ I am with her on this one. All of my Vitamins are in capsules so I can easily take them apart and mix them in Water. I usually go with Garden of Life brands. I had liquid vitamins but to me they seem really expensive and sometimes they can make you gag. -
Ok... I uploaded it on my profile blog.

I Don’t Have To Finish My Plate or How I’m Fighting With Old Habits
kulita commented on joatsaint's blog entry in Gastric Sleeve Surgery - An Unexpected Journey
LOVE IT! I love your humor! <3 I too weigh my food, but that is mainly out of habit since I have a Type 1 diabetic child. Maybe you can potion out your food in oz. I mean it will take some getting used to and soon you should be able to "eyeball" it. This "eyeball" method took me some time to master and sometimes I still am wrong when I double check on the scale. -
Unjury and Syntrax Nectar Desserts
kulita commented on kulita's blog entry in Kulita's gathered information & help
QofDisks, That sound AMAZINGLY delicious! I too like the taste of natural foods. My daughter has type 1 diabetes since she was 11 and We have strived for all of us to eat a better, more balanced diet. Unfortunately, some people including my daughter just cannot have natural sugars so she uses artificial, while I can go au naturale, eat sweetener, or eat sugar. I actually prefer kefir to yogurt, but they both taste so similar when I get the plain version. -
Call me super positive, but, have any of you actually measured yourself? I mean really measured your thighs, upper arm, forearm, neck, waist, hips, chest? Chances are really good that IF you are following the Dr's guidelines you are most likely having small body adjustments and have lost size. I encourage everyone to do this twice a month. I did it just so I can keep track and if I do ever have a plateau, I will know it is a true stall when EVERYTHING doesn't move. That is something I can show the Dr and NUT and we can work on figuring out how to solve the issue. I know that the scale can give discouraging (and misleading) numbers, but cover up the numbers with a piece of masking tape and put your goal weight on the tape. Only find out this info from your Dr. at check ups because that is the weight that is going to matter when it is recorded in your record. It is stressful enough trying to readjust to life post op and enjoy foods one at a time, why add more? On another note, I did ask a few people in my San Diego Support group about hitting stalls/plateaus. Almost all of them swore by eating avocado with every meal for a week to break the plateau. When I can I will upload a .pdf file that explain a bit more about this.

Aw, Right after surgery I had similar feelings.. mainly I thought, "What did I do to myself?" and this was because I was very happy with my love of food. I didn't eat bad, I just ate a lot; and now I lost my friend and I am stuck with this liquid friend. More of us know exactly what you are a feeling. Some of it has to do with the hormones, some of it has to do with head hunger, and some of it has to do with reality. You have the sleeve, so now you have to move forward and learn to re-enjoy foods, one at a time. In the beginning you will feel ill and this has a lot to do with the Protein shakes. Find a good one and you will be ok. You can still have your food friend.. he just can't be your food lover anymore, LOL. Try some samples from unjury.com and Syntrax nectar in chocolate Truffle, vanilla bean torte, and strawberry mousse. Switching it up can definitely help with the nausea. P.M. me if you want to talk.
