How are the march 2013 sleevers doing?
tiffanykj replied to Kitkat101484's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
*Update* I was sleeved March 4th and I am down 79 pounds. With my height, it's definitely noticeable. A lot of people say I look like a totally different person. Definitely the best decision I have ever made! -
Sleeved: 3/4/13 Starting weight: 238 Today's weight: 163 Height: 5"11 The picture on the left was taken exactly a year ago. The newest picture was taken this past Saturday.

My doctor said I could drive whenever I was ready as long as had not taken any pain meds. I only took it at night to sleep without discomfort.

My doctor told me not to drink coca-cola. I am unsure if he meant all carbonated drinks or if I could drink diet beverages? Anyone else have this conversation with their doctors?

Thank you so much! I still struggle with seeing a difference until I put before and after picture together and then I'm in complete shock that I allowed myself to look that way. -

The picture on the left was taken Summer 2012 and the picture on the right was from last weekend. I was sleeved on March 4th! I am happy with my success so far but I still have a little more to go until I reach my goal. -
How are the march 2013 sleevers doing?

I was sleeved March 4th and I am down 50 pounds. I'm 6 feet tall so with my height lots of people have noticed. It's still not where I want to be but it's a start. I still continue to look in the mirror and see this really fat girl even though I've dropped 3 pants sizes. It's a mental thing that will definitely take some work but I am getting there. Congratulations to everyone with your successful loss. Keep up the great work! -
Im 9 weeks in.... Since my surgery I have struggled with 3lbs. I will lose a lot and then stall an go up and down three pounds then I will lose. Then I will do it again... Up and down 3lbs. I asked a lady that had the surgery and she said to drink lots of water bc she does the same. I know you said you get sick, but I did what she said and it worked. I know everyone is different though. Just a tip for you. Good luck!

Carbonated Beverages
tiffanykj replied to tiffanykj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I haven't had one and its been 3 months since surgery. I just had a craving for it but I will stay strong and not get one. I will continue to drink my tea and water. It's not like I can drink/eat much anyways but I just wanted other opinions. After reading other post I've learned that every doctor is definitely different. -
So tomorrow will be my two week mark since surgery. My doctor requires that we go in for a check-up and do our first weight in. Does anyone know if there is an average amount you should have lost at this point or does it just vary according to the person/weight?

Is the sleeve the first surgery for anyone?
tiffanykj replied to Colemon70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This was my first real surgery. I've never had any other kind at all. I had it on Monday (3/4). I've only taken my pain meds at night simply to help me sleep. I was up and walking that night of my surgery after all the medicine was out of my body. It made me a little nauseous but they said that was completely normal. It is a strange feeling because I haven't had any hunger or cravings. I have a 1/2 cup liquids every hour and even that is too much at times. I was never really scared because I was so determined that this was what I wanted! The only uncomfortable feeling I have is when i try to stand up. After about two days its not so bad anymore. I must say this is and will probably always be the best decision I have ever made. Good luck! -
So my surgery is March 4th and my doctor told me I needed to diet two weeks before. Just wanted to see if anyone has an suggestions of what would be best to eat. I have officially given up my coke which is a tough task to begin with. Haha they didn't really say specifics so I just wondered if any other doctors recommended certain things?

Yeah that's what they basically told me too. I figured I would ask for other ideas because I knew every doctor would be different.

I'm new to this board but my surgery is March 4th. I have struggled with my weight since I was in junior high when I was diagnosed with PCOS. I have never been so excited to do something in my life. Good luck to everyone!
