I had my VGS surgery on 1/16/2013. After many years of diets and exercise and the support of my husband, kids, my PCP and nutrition counselor, I opted for gastric sleeve. After following all the required pre insurance approval, I got my OK in Mid Nov.2012. I have been over 200 lbs for over 20 yrs. I don't remember a day without dieting. I have not shared my story with my family (mom,dad,and/or siblings) just my husband,kids,co-workers who are like family. Plus my doctors. I've got a lot of things on my mind, like - what do i tell people who don't know i've had WLS? I guess i don't want to judged, so i guess i will cross that bridge when i get there. I hope i'm doing things well. I don't want to fail. I have made a decision to give myself sometime, see if my feelings change. For now, I can't wait to get back to work and a schedule. My goal is to get to 160. My weight on Jan 1 was 248lbs. I started pre-op diet on Jan 1. On Jan 17 I was 232. Yesterday evening at Dr's office, I was 229lbs.
