I hated the purée stage too. Most things did not sit well. Would feel nauseous. I also use the small glass prep bowls. They are the perfect size. I also have berry bowls that came with my dish set that are less than half the size if a small cereal bowl. You have some really good reasons to get healthier. I am sure you will do terrific:) I am 4 weeks out myself.

My surgeons goal for me is 141. And I am 4'11". When they asked what my goal was I said I would like to see 125 again. They said they would not hold me to that. Was not really sure how to take that. -

Desperate for protien

I also had apple juice for some calories for the first week. My doc insisted I water it down to half juice and half water to protect my new stomach from the acid. -
Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

I am 4'11" and have weighed as much as 238 at my heaviest. At start of preop diet I weighed 215. I am 4 weeks out and weigh 182. So 32 lbs down so far. I am 41 yrs old and have 2 kids. My husband has been very supportive but did not really read anything before I had surgery. Lol. He keeps asking when he might be able to take me out to dinner. His work will be requiring him to travel away for six months in about a month and I think he just wants things to seem ok before he goes. I have been on a 2 week stall and am hoping I start losing again soon. -

You look terrific! I started at 215 and am only 4'11" so I definitely can't afford to lose any height:) I am 4 weeks out and have lost 33 pounds total so far. -

I joined Planet Fitness for 10 bucks a month and they have people that will help you for free. They go around and teach you about the machines and help you make a program. I love the circuit training and they also have tons of cardio machines! -
My hubby took me to see a movie. I am one month post op so he thought hard about what he could do. Dinner out was a no go. Candy or chocolates was also out. So he bought me a card and took me to the movies:)

You look terrific. An inspiration to us all! -
Meat is one of the last things to try to introduce back into our diets. I am one month out and can now start trying white flaky fish that has been baked.

I used the it works wraps before surgery a couple times and lost an average of 2 inches on my stomach. It did not come back in a 3 month time span. I had my doubts but my sister begged me to try it with her. She did not lose anything. I think it is like anything else in life. Works for some people but not for others.

You worked very hard to get where you are. I would pick one or two absolute favs and go right back to the pre op diet. Five pounds could come back very easily. No sense throwing all your hard work away.

What to Wear there ?
deecc26 replied to BuffaloCarol's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wore the hospital gown until the next day after I had a shower. Then sweatpants and a tshirt. And yes they encourage walking around so slippers or crocs would be good. -
husband is getting on my DAM nerves!

I plan on doing the same thing as soon as I am allowed more foods. It's the perfect opportunity to get the whole family eating healthier. Also in regards to the Protein shakes my Doc and Nutritionist discourage liquid calories even from Protein Shakes after two weeks post op. -
day 7 i am hungry and i hate the protien drink
deecc26 replied to chicomoni's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The protein is hard. Make sure it's really cold. I was able to drink the Atkins Advantage premixed vanilla protein shakes ok. And the hunger sucks but you get through it. Sugar free jello or Popsicles can help hold off the hunger. It gets better. I am 3 weeks postoperative and am adjusting pretty well now. -
I have always had trouble with Multivitamins so my doc has me taking 2 Flinstones Complete chewables.
