    Need advice asap!

I too like the injury unflavored. Another protein shake I was able to do is Herbal Life. It's a bit expensive but it mixes well with water. Other people have tried it and couldn't believe it's protein.

How long did you take off work?

My surgery was 2/11. I'm headed back to my desk job Monday 2/25. I took off 2 weeks. The second week was nice because I've been tired.

    Day 4 post op

my surgery was 2/11. Yup, first four to five days sucked but then it got better. The only pain I had was on the right side too. My surgeon explained that is where they took the stomach out so the cut is also in the muscle. Everyday gets better. Monday is 2 weeks and I'm going back to work :-)

    Gratitude Post

I am only almost 2 weeks out but I already have to make an appointment with my family doc to get off my blood pressure meds!! I'm so happy!!
  6. I haven't looked at the belly bands but I want to. I'm thinking it might help while losing weight. As for meds before, nothing added to my regular meds except Vitamins. Afterwards I have a whole bunch of stuff. Liquid pain med of course but haven't taken it since first week. I have 2 different meds for nausea or fullness feeling. Something for my stomach (pantoprazole). Rest is my normal stuff. I was on Prozac before surgery and was able to get it in a liquid form. However after 2 weeks I can go back to my pills which I can't wait cuz the liquid has a horrid aftertaste!

    Vsg In Minneapolis Area?

I just had my sleeve done on 2-11-13. My surgery was done by Dr Baker at Unity Hospital in Fridley. The one thing I really liked about where I did my surgery was the day you leave the hospital you have your doctors pager number and can call it anytime. Makes me feel less nervous.
  8. My name is Shawna and I just turned 35 yesterday. I was sleeved on February 11. I live in Minnesota in the suburbs of Minneapolis. I'm married with no kids (hopefully the sleeve with help this :-) I work for the County in Accounting in the Health & Human Services. Love being with family and friends. Looking forward to new hobbies as I lose weight. I just want to say thank you to everyone on the site. Seriously this site has saved me the last week. You people rock!!
  9. So I'm 3 days post op. I'm supposed to drink 2 oz every 15 minutes and by night time I feel bloated and its harder to keep it up. Anyone experience this? And advice? Also after the first few days, the thought of broth makes me nauseous. Am I crazy already?

    Feel like a bloated lake

Thank you so much for your reply. It's so scarey going thru this but nice to have somewhere to talk to people who understand :-)

    February Sleevers

What is the invite thing about? Sorry new to group and a bit confused. Also I'm on the pre op diet and I'm tired all the time. I've been going to bed early, feel good in the morning but get tired as the day goes on. Is it because of not having many calories? Just getting nervous. Surgery is Monday.

    February Sleevers

Good Afternoon! I'm so excited to be here!! My surgery is scheduled for February 11 (I tried getting it on February 18 as it is my birthday but my doctor was booked. I thought how cool of a new begining on my birthday, oh well I'm still super excited). All the support groups I've seen most people have to do a liguid diet (2 protein shakes and a small, low cal, low fat dinner). My doctor is not requiring this but I am trying to do it for myself (started today). I figured I want to step down. I've been on a 1500 calorie diet so before I go to liquid for 3 weeks (post op requirement) I figure I'll try it. Also I have a little bit of the pre-op weight to lose. My doctor wrote that I would be out of work for up to 3 weeks but might be able to come back sooner depending on how I feel.
