protein shake Sugar Free Popsicles Instead of Ice, YUMMY!
rickyswife posted a topic in Liquids (stage 1)
Finally I have found a way to mix a protein shake that doesn't make me gag, choke, spit, do the "I look like I need to pee, but I really just drank foul swill aka whey protein powder shake" dance..... So maybe you are smarter and have already been doing this, or maybe like me this will be a help, so I decided to share. Here is what I have found that actually goes down well.. Orange Creamsicle Recipe *two sugar free Popsicles (choose your flavors) (this replaces the ice I would normally use) *scoop or scoop and half (I use 1.5 powder) Vanilla or French Vanilla *few drops of vanilla extract * 2 ounces water Blend it all up...... tastes like an orange creamsicle..... no really it does......... NEXT RECIPE: Mint Chocolate Chip Recipe: *two sugar free Fudgsicles (store brands usually have the very lowest counts for some reason) (choose your flavors) (this replaces the ice I would normally use) *scoop or scoop and half (I use 1.5 powder) Vanilla or French Vanilla *few drops of vanilla extract *one or two drops mint extract (one or two does the trick.... powerful stuff) * 2 ounces water So yummy.... the mint just does the trick. -

rickyswife replied to determined1103's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow she is so very young to be getting a sleeve. Teenagers can be that way..... so can adults.... all in all in the end if she does get sleeved and you have gone before her you will be her rock..... you will pave the way. I am glad she will be going through the classes and wish I could have had them. -

Am I just a big baby?
rickyswife replied to marfar7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was shocked at the amount of pain I felt...... it was horrid.... I took to the bed.... had to have my husband or daughter help me get up..... oh the pain was bad..... took all my drugs... and then some (don't ask)..... but they helped me to sleep, which in turn helped me to feel some better.... food or shakes had no interest for me.... so liquids were the option.... but man oh man..... one day I began to fart for nearly thirty minutes straight, big ones, little ones, quiet ones, loud ones, musical ones, award winning fart-o-rama went down in my bed.... blew the sheet up in the air and it got hung int he ceiling fan... but oh the relief.... as soon as the festival of farts was over.... my pain almost ceased and I could get up on my own..... keep walking maybe like me you just need to fart. -
umbilical hernia?....
rickyswife replied to ReadyNewM3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have one.... they did the surgery ard it...... left ti there.... in the future should I want a tummy tuck (insurance does not cover) I can go in to have the hernia repaired (insurance does cover) and while I am under for a covered procedure have the tummy tuck done at an affordable price.... -
I have high BP and one of my goals is to come off the meds.... we can and WILL do this!

46 pounds lost, and wearing the same clothes?!?
rickyswife replied to megansmommy123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay.... I just love this post, it explains how I felt..... at 50 pounds I was still wearing the same clothing, the only thing loose was the bra (sad to report).... and people were not even commenting on the fact that I had lost 50 pounds.... I was like.... someone please notice, I have been working so hard... and then I lost a few more suddenly my 26/28 were too big (had yardsale made nearly 500.00 off of the plus size clothing, not joking, TRUE STORY made close to 500.00 ) so I went for the 24s, guess what I totally went from 26/28 right to 22 BAM... no stopping at 24 at all, happened in a flash.... hang int here, I am in the niddle of a five day stall now.... but hanging there knowing that my body will, yes it will catch up. -
8 week stall has become rapid gain. HELP!
rickyswife replied to ChefEm624's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You might want to get your BP checked, I have BP issues and weigh myself everyday, I am on meds.... and I do retain water, I gain 2 to 3 pounds everyday, and somehow magically lose it while I sleep.... if I were ever to gain 5lbs in one day I am to go to the doctor..... but yes everyday up 2 or 3.... and it just idssapates overnight.... where does it go? -
I agree, if your insurance will cover then by all means try to use it..... are all of your efforts documented by a Dr. you may be able to fast track it....

Stalled, Stressed and tired.....
rickyswife replied to Disco's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand, I will be ten weeks out tmrw, and i have had two 8 day stalls already, each one coinciding with Aunt Flo...... seriously.... hoping that this month it will not happen.... but alas, I did start losing as soon as Aunt Flo left, hang in there, stick tot he plan.... I admit to weighing everyday.... I know ti would be best to wait as suggested by many.... but at this point can't help myself. -
I too was at week 6.... but used it to mix in drinks.... and just a tiny amount.
-
Have you ever seen one of the older garbage trucks driving down the road during a late summer record breaking heat wave, and there is this awful smelling and looking liquid trailing from the truck..... that is the ISOPURE fountain... stuff tastes foul and is slimy.
-
I am allowed to eat shell-less tacos, I will be ten weeks out..... haha, make that taco with no lettuce, but I make up my little (very little pile)... sot seasoned turkey, cheese, small dollop sour cream, salsa..... but I decided not to eat this too much, it really is a trigger to wanting the actual shell..... must be because I went to TJ for the surgery, weird huh?

Whoop! Whoop!

Just wanted to add for any of the new post ops..... I too had severe pain.... and I had went to Mexico, but the pain did not happen until I returned home.... I suffered for a day or two because it was bearable.... but let me tell you about 15 days out, yes I say 15 days out.... one evening I was laying in bed and I began to bust wind like a lactose intolerant calf who will not stop sucking from the overflowing udders of the world champion blue ribbon milk producer (you know the heifer in the Guinness World Book).... now these gigantic pooters had no smell, but the Boston Symphony would have hired me.... passed air for minutes straight.... and became a BRAND NEW WOMAN.... and my husband said "All that moaning and groaning, and me so concerned because my wife needed to fart for half an hour. Whew!" BE on alert, trapped gas is no laughing matter.... still trying to figure out how it permeates through the inner sanctum to final destination of sweet release and relief.
