Will i loose my big girls?
rickyswife replied to chibabyy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a 48H, I am now down 55 pounds, and just bought new bras, I measured and fit into a 44DDD... I too have big girls...... when I came home upset because they were actually shrinking... my husband rolled his eyes and said "I don't know why you are so upset, I AM THE ONE who should be upset about this, they are my favorite toys."..... I am scared they will be saggy little deformed deflated water balloons, and I know I do not and will probably never be able to afford to fix them.... so yes I am in a panic over htis thought..... just gonna buy the best bras I can afford... right now I am loving the butterfly bras I bought, they also help with my back fat.... this body is changing.... but it is not all good.... but not he other hand we don't want loose a bunch of weight and have huge girls.... we would look cartoonish if we did. -
How to Choose a DR in Mexico and Have a Great Experience
rickyswife replied to jan8j's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I have no regrets on going to TJ for my surgery..... both my PCP and cardiologist were for it as well, my cardiologist took the time to help me go over WHAT to look for..... and I used his criteria to seek out a doctor and went with confidence, I traveled with my 20 year old son because he speaks Spanish.... had no language issues with the doctors, a few of the medical assistants.... did nto speak English... but they had preprinted sheets for every possible want or need.... everyone was so friendly, the clinic was clean... very small, very old.... but I never felt like it was a bad choice, not once, my driver was great and took great care and visited everyday..... I would def recommend this way if your insurance does not cover. -
I love this topic.... I just joined the gym last Sunday, so six days ago...... I told the young man that I had had surgery... and he got very excited and said he wanted to help me..... no trainer needed.... he offered to be my coach, trainer, and cheerleader.... he was all about it..... so I have started out on the treadmill, I go and do 30 minutes to an hour, so far so good, I have gone every day since joining..... young man said when I get comfortable and build up a little more stamina that we will add...... was very intimidating..... fear of being fatest, slowest, breathing hardest, red faced, jiggly sagging breasts bouncing (despite tight bra)..... woman in the gym.... so far everyone has been very encouraging!~

WHOA.... anyone else suffer from extreme bruising post op.... I look like I have had a skin graft from Barney the Dinosaur... and it hurts so bad too.... surgeon did state my bruising was excessive.... I was just shocked.... even the pictures I see of others bruising do not match mine, a paper plated held over my bruises does not cover..... how did you treat your bruising? And on average how long did it hurt really badly, I know it will ease, but right now I am in the one week post op, whining stage.... if it were not for this bruising I think I would feel pretty great....

Skin Graft from Barney or VSG?
rickyswife replied to rickyswife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not a diabetic, but I have always bruised Very easily.... did not work in my favor this go around, I have bruises that I don't know where they come from, PCP has run blood work several times, nothing, was told I am just very pale and very tender, thanks. -
I apologize I know you are seeking a serious answer, but my husband is 59 and he continues to go with love making as his exercise of choice.... have a nice day hope someone answers with a real answer.

I am a week out, and actually yesterday was my worst day ever..... for the life of me I can not figured out how I wnet downhill over night it seemed..... as for my instructions I was told to concentrate on making sure I get my Water or Clear Liquids in first, and that it was fine for me to wait until one week out to try to start adding shakes back in to the mix, every surgeon is different, I am blessed I am having no troubles getting the water down and feeling better today..... really perked up. I am having troubles sleeping..... BUY A NEW mattress should have been on my pre op list. I am curious is the ISOPURe as bad as everyone says... I hear it is great for the counts but so many say is is YUKKO.... my surgeon also recommended Isopure.

I am seven days post op, and my surgeon told me I did NOT have to crush my pills (wasted money on a crusher too)... was told to try taking them, one at a time with a sip of water.... did so day after surgery no pain, no reaction... so was givent he all clear to swallow meds whole.
-
OH food I can't wait, I am seven days post op.... and just happy that I am not having issues getting the water down.... glides right in, WHEW! This post is helpful to me, thanks.

24 hours and counting!
rickyswife replied to mrspurifoy2u's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I am one week out...... expect bruising, I was shocked by the amount of bruising. And make sure you have everything at home ready.... several options... it IS true that some of the things you liked before surgery you may not like post op, only six days and I am turned off by a favorite just two weeks ago, keep us posted! Also post op gravity is your worst enemy, but once I figured out HOW to get up and down in a less painful way, ahh much better. -

Escape from Temptation Island or How I Survived the Monthly Office Birthday Party
rickyswife commented on joatsaint's blog entry in Gastric Sleeve Surgery - An Unexpected Journey
In my Bible study group the monthly breakfast parties are always sweets and more sweets, and then in April it was one of the womens turns, and she brought in hard boiled eggs, melon, strawberries, turkey bacon, turkey sausage, whole wheat mini bagels, fat free cream cheese.... it was so good, we talked about how much better we all felt and no one missed the goodies.... oh and she brought greek yogurt too, she set a new bar for all of us. -
Thank you so much, I am being sleeved on May 6th, in two days, I NEEDED THIS INSPIRATIONAL POST!

Really confused and overwhelmed
rickyswife replied to dork's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
HEre is where I am going, and WHY...... I have been fortunate in the fact that my cardiologist has been on board with me going to Mexico for self pay since my insurance does not cover..... my cardiologists office went over everything and helped me to choose a surgeon, he said NO MATTER where I go I am foremost HIS concern as his patient, and tha HE will be taking caring of me AFTER, so my choice was important to him as well.... after great discussion, and the cardiologist reviewing the desires he had for my selection..... I ended up with Dr. Cabrera.... my coordinator is CHristy... (and yes I see that the coordinators all seem linked... so confusing) but everything has gone so smooth from faxes, to phone calls, to instructions, to just everything, I am GAING reassurance the closer I get..... it does include a two day in hospital stay as well as two days at the Hilton...... my plus one is my 20 year old son...... and CHristy continues to go over every detail, and answer every panicy question I have.... I would have been so confused and scared if my cardiologist had not gotten on board for my doing this..... the sleeve is about 5,000.00 with this group of surgeons...... so glad I had help because doign research was baffling me in the start.... you can check it out here.... http://www.mexicobariatriccenter.com/ and remember I am goiing in two weeks and will do a FULL REPORT..... -
JonnyZ I have similar plan to yours but I am on it for three weeks, and then three days of clears.... for a total pre op of 24 days, I am now on day 10, surgery date of May 6th.... I have lost 15lbs so far.... woo hoo!
