Wow Val, sorry about all the trouble you've been having! What did the doctor find when he ran the tests?

An Open Letter to my Bathroom Scale-
Gibson replied to ReadySteadyGo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hahahahahahahahaha!!!! You are a funny, funny girl! P.S. Is your scale still with us in the land of the 'non'living? -
I'm sorry you are having this trouble. It doesn't happen to me but it might just be because my surgeon makes all of his patients take Prevacid for three months after the surgery. (I'm taking a generic version because of my insurance.) Definitely call your surgeon because you might be suffering unnecessarily! Good luck!

Welcome officeslave and all the others who have posted here! I agree that this is the best group around so please, post often!!! We won't bite! (Unless some of you kinky ones want us too, of course!) =)

How much restriction from 1st fill?
Gibson replied to JaxBandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Carol, I have a suggestion for you. HARASS YOUR DOCTOR AND HIS STAFF UNTIL YOU GET ANOTHER FILL! It's ridiculous for them to make you wait another month if you have zero restriction. Good luck! -
Hey tapshoes, welcome! I will forever be indebted to a Canadian for turning me on to hockey! =) tripod, I love your Bender avatar! I finally got brave enough to poke my head in here and look for a fellow West Virginian or Kentuckian and you guys are talking about football again. There's no escape. =)

Well, great. Now I'm jealous.:biggrin:

I really like the idea of rewarding myself with an MP3 player! I'm glad you suggested that! I think today I'll make myself a little list of rewards for every twenty pounds lost. Hmmmm, that means I'm already due one reward! Just the excuse I needed to get a manicure and pedicure! =)

Congratulations to all you closet shoppers!!!! I am still in the same 30/32 tops and 26/28 pants I was at surgery time because I've only lost 20 pounds so far BUT...I have a closet full of the next size down clothes that I'm hoping to fit into in a month or so. I'll be so excited! I don't have any size below that though, so (optimistically speaking) if I keep losing weight by late summer I might have to start buying new things. WOO HOO!!!!!!

JanetNBama, I just read this thread again and I'm not sure anyone responded to you. I'm sorry that you are having such a hellish year. I broke up with my boyfriend of five years at Thanksgiving so I'm kind of with you on that. Are you feeling any better? JulieC, I wouldn't backtrack if I were you. From what I read here it looks like the majority of us rush through our food stages but as long as you are making healthy choices and not having any stomach irritation I say keep up the good work!

I've lost 6 pounds now since my first fill on 4/3

Congratulations!!! =) -
What is the most you've ever weighed? The least?
Gibson replied to Gibson's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Gloucester, you are so close to the 100s! I'm thrilled for you! I see that you currently weigh what I weighed at my smallest. I felt so small then! -
New to the site and have some questions
Gibson replied to ilvlucy607's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So glad you posted! Yes, things will get MUCH better after your first fill. I had almost given up hope until I got mine. (See my "Vomit is my Friend" thread.) The fact that you have lost anything is great because a lot of people (and I'm one of those lot!) regain back all of their weight after the post-op liquid stage before the first fill. Hang in there and keep hanging out here with us! =) -
Yay Angie! The difference in weight couldn't have happened to a nicer person! (Your comment about the shirt style cracked me up. I never would have noticed if you hadn't said that!) LOL Of course, my goal in life is to find the perfect fitting top and bottom and buy each one in every color of the rainbow and never have to worry about clothing again!
-
tskelli, You are losing so well...I'm so happy for you! I'm hoping to be at 280 by the time school goes out this summer. WOO HOO!!! I'm going to be in here dancing a jig when I finally get back into the 200s!
-
Hey Lori and Jaime! I had a 3cc fill in a 10cc, Large AP Band. I'm not scheduled to go back until July so I'm praying hard that I can hold out that long for another fill. Otherwise, I'll be harassing the girls at the office again. (I know they hate me but I DON'T CARE! I'm losing weight again!) Muahahahahahah!!!!
-
hee hee hee That cracked me up!
-
You are so flippin' hilarious!!! I love your posts! And I have to ask...just how big is your church if it has its own coffee bar???
-
Hey girl! I want you to know that I'm dying of jealousy that you are going to see Cyndi Lauper in concert!

Does a clear, flavorless, protein supplement exist?
Gibson posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I love Water but I'm not so crazy about adding milk to my Protein shakes. Is there a clear, flavorless protein supplement that can be added to water or Crystal Light? Thanks in advance! P.S. For all the board police out there, yes...I did a search first. =) -
Oh gosh, these stories are terrible but hilarious! I just thought of one...the day of my high school graduation was the hottest day of the summer. We had our graduation ceremony on the football field and our folding chairs were sitting on the asphalt track around the field. I was so heavy that the legs of my chair started melting INTO THE ASPHALT!!!! I was getting shorter and shorter and shorter than the rest of my fellow graduates. It only happened to me and one other poor goober.

Oh gosh, you girls are so sweet. This thread actually made me cry because you missed me! minock hit the nail on the head. I haven't been coming around because I was getting depressed seeing everyone do so well when my doctor said he wouldn't even give me a fill until 8 weeks out. I know, I know...that's petty of me, and I really am happy for all of you who are doing so well but it makes me feel like a big loser and NOT in a good way. =) I have gained back 12 of the 20 pounds I lost during the liquid phase of my post-op diet so I have been very depressed. I called my surgeon's office Tuesday and BEGGED to get a fill before 8 weeks. I called my surgeon's office Thursday and PLEADED to get a fill before 8 weeks. FINALLY, today they called me back and said they would do it at six weeks. I guess they figured if they didn't agree I wouldn't stop harassing them and they were right! lol So, now that I have a little light at the end of my tunnel I was finally able to come back and read the boards. I've missed you girls and hopefully in another couple of weeks I'll have some success stories of my own. *hugs*

I am being banded in February and I have 165 pounds to lose so I feel like I'd be more at home in the 200+ group than the 100+ group. That sixty-five pounds makes a big difference!

Calling all Feb. Bandsters! Tell us about yourself!

I am a 38 year old teacher from Kentucky. I'm single. I don't have children. I have a very warped sense of humor. *suddenly feel like I'm writing a personal ad* I'm also a reality TV junkie! My starting weight is 330 whopping pounds and my goal weight is 165. I think I can do it!!!!! Tell us about YOU! -
I have eaten like a gluttonous hog this weekend. I know how you feel. I can't wait to get back to work tomorrow so I can't EAT ALL DAY!!!! Here's to work weeks!!!! *clinks glass*
