To Office Slave and Others I Offended
Gibson replied to BlessedTwice's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Brenda, don't you dare leave us! You made an honest mistake and one that happens all the time to people who don't LIVE on message boards like I do. Not only that, but you made a sincere apology instead of getting defensive about it. I was thrilled that a female finally won, also and seriously...if you stop posting we are going to come after you! =) -
I know we must have some faithful lurkers here who don't post for one reason or another. Please, PLEASE come out of the woodwork and join us! You can help us keep this place hoppin'! This truly is a funny, friendly, super-supportive group of people. Come on out and play with us! Lurkers....it's time to DELURK!!!!!

Ok lurkers, it's time to come out of the woodwork!

Yay!!! I'm meeting new people! I'm truly loving this part of the board and who knows, if we keep getting along this well I could see a get together in our future! =) You delurkers hold still...I'm gonna try this rep thing out on ya. =) -
I have a couple of them. One, I would love to look good in a long, cream-colored fisherman's sweater and a pair of nice jeans. I would also love to wear jeans with a black turtle neck (tucked in! What a miracle that would be!) and a belt. A belt is something I have literally never been able to wear in my entire life. What are your dream outfits?

The most I've ever weighed (that I can prove!) is 330. I think I probably went above that by ten pounds or so at one point but I refused to get on the scale and find out for fear of flinging myself off the nearest high building. The least I've ever weighed as an adult is 232. I weighed 250 when I graduated high school so I've always been fat. If I can get to 231 pounds in this journey at least I'll weigh the least I've ever weighed in my adult life. What about you?

Ok, I admit it. I still don't underestand what it is? What's the purpose of "rep power"?
-
What is reputation? Reputation is a way of rating users depending on the quality of their posts. If the administrators have enabled reputation, then the reputation icon will be visible in posts. Reputation may be positive , negative or neutral . Negative reputation may only be given if the administrator has enabled this. Neutral reputation is only given when the person giving reputation does not meet the criteria set by the administrator to affect someone else's reputation. How do I give reputation? To give reputation, click on the reputation icon in the relevant post. This will reveal a form to complete with the reputation type and the reason for giving the reputation. If negative reputation is disabled then it will not be displayed in this form. You may not give reputation for the same post twice. How do I know what reputation I have received? You can view the reputation that you have received in your User CP (User Control Panel) where it is displayed at the bottom of the User CP page. Here you will see the latest reputation that you have received and whether this is positive, negative or neutral. Your total reputation will be shown as series of reputation indicators in your posts and profile. The more positive your reputation, the more positive icons will be shown. The more negative your reputation the more negative icons will be shown. How much reputation is given? What is reputation power? If the administrator has enabled this, the amount of reputation that each user will give (or take away if negative) is shown in the user's posts as 'Reputation Power'. The value of the reputation power is determined by the administrator and may increase over time depending on the settings they have applied. What if I don't want anyone to see my reputation? You can disable the display of your reputation by going to your User CP and selecting Edit Options. On this page you will find a check box labelled 'Show Your Reputation Level'. Un-checking this box will remove the display of your reputation and replace it with the Reputation Disabled icon. You can still give and receive reputation while your reputation display is disabled. So now I know! I think? =)

Well, I did it. I clicked the button. Again and again. I started clicking on everyone who posted to the dream outfit thread. Now it says I have given too much reputation in 24 hours. lol I have to investigate this...

Aaarrghh! How frustrating! Maybe you do need to do something different? Maybe add two or three hundred calories one or two days a week to confuse your body? I've heard that works really well. (Won't it be great if eating MORE is the answer to your problem?) =) I really do feel your pain. I weighed 309 for one brief shining moment about a week ago and I haven't seen it since. You can't make me change my signature though! I think I might need to take my own advice and eat more calories today. They have been super low.
-
Still though, that's super!!! You can really tell the difference. I have to lose about 60 pounds before people start noticing. Maybe I'll post some 60 pound gone photos one of these days! =)
-
48 pounds in two months? That is flippin' amazing!!! I'm so happy for you and you are looking great!!! =)

Ooh, you just reminded me of something. I've gotten the stuck feeling three, (yeah Angie, I'm like you...sometimes it takes a long time for me to get the hint! lol), count 'em, three times before I vowed to never try a single french fry again as long as I live. I wasn't even going to eat more than one. I just wanted to try one. Yeah. Three times.
-
Ironically, the only thing that has ever gotten stuck on me is meat. The thing I'm supposed to be eating first at my meals! I've had sticking episodes with chicken, fish, and ground beef. Everything else I've ever tried (bread included) has gone down just fine.

Did you know there is a friend feature here? And a social group for us?
Gibson posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks to ReadySteadyGo, now I know! Check out your public profile to see what I'm talking about. I've been trying to add some of you as my friends because when I click on your profiles it says, "no one has befriended Jane Doe yet". How sad is that? :crying:I can't stand to think some of my fellow Double V's haven't been befriended yet! =) Thanks RSG for befriending me! =) -
Hey guys, I'm so glad to be back and I'm ecstatic to actually have restriction for the first time!!!! I don't want to alarm anyone into thinking bulimia is my goal (based on my thread title!) BUT, I was never so happy to vomit as I was this week. I had my first fill and was a good girl and stayed on liquids for two days, then on the third day I tried to eat the inside of a beef and cheese taco. I ate slowly, everything went down well....or so I thought. The next thing I knew I was sliming and proceeded to hurl my guts out! I was ELATED!!!! Yes, yes, I know that I can't make vomiting a habit or my band will slip but...I HAD RESTRICTION!!!!! I actually, FINALLY, had a physical reaction to being banded! I was beginning to think the whole surgery was a cruel hoax and I was going to be totally on my own with this thing. I cannot tell you how relieved I am now that I feel like I'm a real bandster!!! I'm drinking my three Protein shakes a day, drinking all my Water, and eating solid food as tolerable (baked fish, veggies, chili.) As many of you know, my surgeon typically waits eight weeks for the first fill. Well, after gaining back all of the weight I'd lost on my two-week liquid diet the FIRST WEEK I went back on semi-solid foods, I realized I was going to need a fill much sooner. So, I basically begged, pleaded, harassed, and harangued my surgeon's office staff until one of them finally agreed to ask the doctor if I could come in at six weeks for a fill. He agreed and here I am! (Just a note to those of you who have surgeons with very conservative fill practices. Do not take no for an answer! If you can eat anything and everything in sight you NEED A FILL!) I am delighted to tell you that since my first fill I have lost all the weight I regained and an extra pound to boot! Now I'm just praying that this heavenly restriction lasts and I won't have to white knuckle my weight loss for the next three months. This optimistic feeling is so new to me. I LOVE BAND LAND!!!!!

tapshoes, undulate and uvula are two of the words I hate!! lol That also triggered a memory for another word that makes me cringe. Vulva. Eeeewwwwww.

I understand your excitement, Jaime! One of my fantasies is to burn all of my old panties, socks, and bras in a big bonfire then go out and buy all new ones!

What is the most you've ever weighed? The least?
Gibson replied to Gibson's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Crystal, you were beautiful then and you're beautiful now! Wow, that graduation picture looks like it belongs in a catalog somewhere. It's stunning! I don't have any glory day pictures because I weighed 250 when I graduated high school! That's one wild thing about the potential of losing weight with this band, I don't even know what my regular human, healthy weight body might look like! Will I have a waist? Will I have an ass? Hopefully time will tell! -
What a great concert! I think I'd better go with you next year! =) I love 80's music. I was going to see Pat Benatar a few years ago but a huge, dangerous to drive in, storm blew through and I couldn't make the concert. I'm still bummed about it.

An Open Letter to my Bathroom Scale-
Gibson replied to ReadySteadyGo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
RSG, I think I might need to kill my scale, too. But he's been so good to me lately it's almost easy to forget the bad times! I am definitely obsessed with weighing, though. I've had a couple of days lately where I woke up feeling thinner but the scale didn't reflect my mental state. It really ticked me off! I admire the heck out of you for staying off your scale. -
These are all great ideas, girls! RSG, I just got an invitation to a "Second Chance Prom" that a local Lap Band surgeon is having for his patients! You should mention it to your support group and see if they might be interested in doing something like that. Unfortunately, I had no desire to go to my first prom and I still don't have the desire. I don't think it had anything to do with being fat, though, I think it was because I was anti-social.

Yeah, where are you? We miss our voice of reason!
-
Well Ezma, your muses amused me at least! =) Why are you in pain?

*runs off to google gobbets* I had never heard that word before in my life! I never even knew that googling gobbets was possible until today! =)
