Awwww Rhapsody, you are a true doll! Feel free to inspire us EVERY day! *hugs*

I have another one that's hilarious, but it's not mine, it's my mom's. She is terrified of vampires. She has nightmares about them all the time and while she knows they aren't real, when it's dark and she hears bumps in the nights....VAMPIRES! Well, my sister told her that vampires have OCD (I think she got that idea from X-Files) =), so, my sister told her if a vampire comes into your room and you throw down a box of little somethings in front of him, he'll have to pick it up before he attacks you so it gives you time to get away. SO, my mom, (who really is an intelligent, rational woman), put a jar of buttons next to her bed..to throw at any vampires that might attack her in the night. lol

Oh gosh, you just reminded me of another one...WOOD MOUTH!!! I get violent heebie-jeebies if my mouth touches the wood on a popsicle stick. Oh gosh, I'm cringing and shuddering right now just thinking about it.

I've experienced that too but blamed it on the constipation. I thought maybe toxins were building up in my system or something. I think I'm drinking plenty of fluids but I'll up them if will help any. Isn't this wild? All these things we are noticing about our bodies now?

I totally agree with both of you. =)

Welcome and I absolutely believe you can lose all the weight you need to lose with the band as long as you give it your all! =)
-
Hey guys, I'm Gibson! I'm a teacher and I was just banded on 2/25. I've got 165 pounds to lose to GET to 165 pounds. I would feel anorexic if I weighed 165 so that's my goal, whether it's considered a "healthy" weight or not. I know I'll feel good and look good then! It's nice to "meet" you all! =)

Hey guys, wow, I'm glad this thread is still going. I promise I won't neglect it again! I was finally banded on 2/25 and have had virtually no problems. Yay God! I'm having a little constipation problem today. (Aren't you SO glad to know that?) =) But, I'm "working on it". =) I see that a lot of you were banded in February. You should come over to the February 2008 group. Lots of good people are there!

Thanks girls. This is crazy. I'm in more pain now than I was when I woke up in the hospital! I'm going to try the heating pad. Wish me luck! LOL

Hey guys, I survived! =) I was banded on Monday and cannot believe how easy everything has been! Thank you LORD!!!!!!!! Of course I'm sore, around the port area especially, and I'm having some gas and burping issues but hey...I'm doing great! I'm so grateful that I didn't have any complications considering the fact that I did not follow the pre-op diet. :smile2: God was very merciful to me. I had to spend the night even though things went great because my surgeon changed his policy a month ago. Now everyone has to stay one night. The hospital I went to was AMAZING, from the first valet parking attendant to the last and every orderly, nurse, and doctor in-between, I had a top-notch experience. I'm so grateful!!!! I did have one pretty severe gagging/dry heaving incident this morning around 4am but when it passed I ate some banana baby food and felt better. I think it just happened because I was hungry and didn't realize it. I did call my surgeon's office and ask for a prescription for some anti-nausea meds though, just in case it happens again. I'll pick it up tomorrow but hopefully I won't need it! I'm off to read more posts now and I sure hope everyone else is doing as well as I am! :tongue2:

I'm taking a liquid coral calcium. I don't know if it's the right kind or not but it was the only liquid I could find at Wal*Mart.

Congrats on your successful surgery! We really have been blessed, haven't we?
-
jnbwilds, I'm so happy for you about the seatbelt on the plane experience. I had to use an extender the last time I flew and it was mortifying. YAY!!!!
-
StLouisGal, I'm not having much hunger either. Thank you LORD!!!!! I hope it stays this way until I can get to the real food stage! I still can't believe some of you guys are getting fills already! I'm going to be soooo jealous when I go for my six-week checkup if my doc won't let me have one.

taismommy, You just motivated me to pull out the Incentive (breathing thingie) they gave me at the hospital. I can't imagine not having a scale. I'm definitely obsessed!

Hey girls and (maybe some guys?) =) I'm still feeling pretty great, considering. =) Last night I ate a sugar-free popsicle and NEVER AGAIN. I had horrible, painful gas in my stomach and everywhere else. Definitely not worth it, especially since I haven't had too many gas issues. I think one of my steristrips has already fallen off, but I'm not sure. Nine left and then I'll be soooooo thrilled! They are starting to get a little itchy. I still can't believe I'm doing so well. I've lost fourteen pounds since Monday, yay!, and as my stomach shrinks a little the pain in the port area is lessening. I think it's because my stomach is so gross, big and hangy that it's pulling on the port when I sit up or walk. I'm actually walking around holding my stomach up like I'm holding a baby, so the pain won't be as bad. I'm soooo sexy. lol I'm not getting enough liquids or Fiber in but I'm increasing it daily. I'm having trouble with taking drinks that are too big so today I finally resorted to setting a timer and only taking a sip every three minutes. Otherwise my stomach really lets me know it isn't happy. I still can't believe how well I'm doing and how great I feel! I was scheduled to go back to work on Monday but thanks to snow days this week I won't have to go back until next Thursday. I'm really grateful for those extra days because I'm not sure I'd be ready by Monday. What are you guys eating? Believe it or not, I've stuck to my doctor's post-op diet to the letter. I've been eating half cups of cream Soup and Protein drinks. I also ate some Jell-O. I've been putting Liquafiber in my Protein Drinks and flavored waters but I still haven't had a BM since the surgery. I'm not feeling bloated or constipated yet though so I'm not worried. I'm actually able to sleep/lie on my stomach already as long as I have a soft blanket under my belly. Ok, enough about me! lol I just wanted to give you all the scoop to see if any of you are going through the same things.

I'm sorry about the sliming but wow, you are melting!!! That's awesome! Are you cutting your pills? My pharmacist told me to cut mine in fourths. See if that helps if you aren't doing it already.
-
I'm glad you're doing better. Hang in there!
-
You lucky dog! I'm going to be in bandster hell a lot longer than you were because my surgeon won't even DISCUSS fills until your weight loss has dropped to less than two pounds a week. That could be months of white knuckling on my part! I hope you don't have any sliming or PBing episodes after this first fill! Good luck!
-
No, I haven't had any shoulder pain. My pain yesterday, (third day) seemed like it was the worst of all. Probably because the port site is getting sorer and I've been backing off the pain meds. It's just a feeling in my stomach of a. having done a hundred crunches and b. having eaten a gigantic Thanksgiving feast. That's the extent of my pain so far.

Just think how excited you'll be in a few months when you don't have to take ANY diabetes or blood pressure meds! I'm happy for you!

My surgery and weird reaction to anestesia

I'm glad you're doing OK now and sorry about your bad experience! Now we can just start melting together! =) -
Hey Rhapsody, I'm so glad that you are doing so well. I'm very excited about all of the success we are experiencing! =)
-
That is so exciting! I won't be entering Onederland until this time next year...IF I'm lucky, so I'm thrilled for you!

I'm scheduled to be banded a week from tomorrow BUT I woke up with the worst cough/cold I've ever had in my life. I've had this bronchitis for almost three months now so the surgeon had already scheduled me for a chest x-ray on Tuesday. I'm so frustrated and upset that this might put off my surgery for another month! Please pray that I'll miraculously get better for the chest x-ray. AND if that doesn't work...pray that I won't have a meltdown when the surgery is postponed. =( Thank you!
