4 months out.. & so stressed

Your body is transitioning! If you are loosing inches, but not weight, that's an amount of fat (takes up more space) now taken up by the same weight of muscle (is denser- takes up less space). Keep doing what you're doing. If you decide to up your calories for a few days, make it GOOD calories. No sense in filling yourself with things you shouldn't be eating anyways!

    Lane Bryant graduates

You'd have to be SUPER selective, but I bought some really nice things at Old Navy this weekend. I too, have recently 'graduated' from LB, but not as much as you! Congrats! I'm too small for their tops, but not yet too small for their skirts. My hips are still really big. It makes finding dresses difficult!

    Just not feeling it

Oh yes, I was very tired starting out!

    Help...I'm being deprived!

Oh man. Cooking while on liquids only would have killed me. My husband took over all of the cooking for the first several weeks. hehe... I love Monty Python!

    Protein bars?

I had my first Protein bar at 5 months post-op. The biggest thing is you need to be cleared for whole foods.

    Any Ithaca/syracuse Sleevers?

I'm near Utica and was sleeved in Cooperstown at Bassett.

Any Central NY / Utica Sleevers out there?

I'm from Clinton (near Utica) and was sleeved in Cooperstown because I heard that their program was excellent. Very true!

9 Nines Until I get "Sleeved"

I'm glad I had my husband's help for the first week, definitely. Hopefully your sister will stay with you for a few days overnight too?

popsicles and ices and weight loss

I ate a lot of popsicles post-op too. I liked having something to 'chew' on. The texture was nice, and I hate jello.

    Nice job!

    STOP CALLING IT A TOOL!

I totally agree with Makemyownluck. I call it a tool to try to explain to people that having surgery wasn't a magic fix-all.

    first post op post!

Glad you're doing well! Showers definitely help!

    Need help! Ive blown it!

I don't track, but I weigh everything I eat. At 4 months out I was eating 3 oz at breakfast (1/3 banana, 1 egg, and a tiny bit of cheese) and 4 oz at lunch and dinner. I'd suggest a food scale.

Scale gave me five different numbers

I love my Weight Watchers scale. I got it at target for about 20 bucks. I always get the same number no matter where I stand on it. It also tells you %body fat, BMI, etc if you have your sex and height programmed in.

This is my story and I'm sticking to it

I had a hard time with liquid at the beginning too. I purchased sugar free popsicles, and protein powders, and borrowed a juicer for veggie/fruit juice. I set a timer to go off every hour. I had to have 1/2c liquid or popsicle every hour. That helped me get my liquids and protein in.

    Stretch marks and boobs question

You have stretch marks forever. My breasts are definitely low and deflated now, but I can still 'pour' them into a bra just fine. They are much more liquid rather than firm, but there are lots of women who have plastic surgery to increase breast firmness or to regain size after surgery. I won't be going that way because I will breastfeed when I have children.

7 Months Post Op and down 126 pounds

You look fantastic! Best of luck on getting pregnant. I second (or third or fourth) the advice for getting bloodwork done to make sure your nutrients are all set.

    So depressed

I'm sorry you're feeling depressed right now. Full liquids are hard. I have two suggestions. 1- go to a counselor. You've changed the body, now you need help to change your mind about food. Most people on here have food addictions. A counselor can help you with what you're going through. 2- get more protein! Start drinking Protein shakes. Put Protein powder in your Soups that you're eating. If you are getting seriously under your protein amounts, that can really affect mood swings for me. You're also probably consuming too much sugar from the straight apple juice. Try iced tea or crystal light or vegetable/fruit juices, etc. Get some Vitamins in there! Do you have a support network?

    WATERMELON!?

Oh boy. It's going to be a long wait until they come into season around me!
  24. Yup, milk products have natural sugars. Just get plain yogurt. That's what I bought for post-op and it worked well. My nutritionist wanted me to eat greek yogurt because 1 cup has 22g of Protein (although I couldn't eat a whole cup at a time post-op) and she had me Water it down a little when I was in liquid phase.
