JUST WONDERING IF I AM THE ONLY ONE
aquitenonnymouse replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a conventional store XL on top and a Lane Bryant 20 on the bottom. I haven't lost weight this way before either, and it's a little frustrating... but part of it is belly skin. A BIG part of it is belly/abdominal fat. I still don't have a butt. -
Really depressed
aquitenonnymouse replied to wigenie40's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I would suggest seeing a counselor. They can help you sort things out, and can be a great option. Weight loss surgery won't cure/solve depression, but not dealing with what you're feeling right now CAN sabotage your weight loss post-op. -
Oof. I hope this heals well and you feel better!

Laura ven is famous!

True that. I asked for her autograph, but couldn't get her attention from behind her huge-normous celebrity sunglasses. Fame is so fickle, Laura-ven... be careful! -
You're so close! You can do it!

Nice! That's fantastic! I'd love to see some pictures! -
I'm happier than I was pre-op, that's for sure. It comes and goes. I was probably a 6 or 7 today. I wasn't sad, or unhappy, but nothing nearing ecstatic! I'm getting above that plenty, though. I think I'm just hormonal going into that 'time of the month' and feeling bloated and ugly occasionally.

Loose skin or fat?
aquitenonnymouse replied to bethxxx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd guess if it's a thin apron, it's skin. If when you pinch it your fingers are more than 1/2" apart, there's fat there. -
My surgeon said to wait 6 weeks for vigorous exercise. I figured sex was vigorous exercise... so I waited 6 weeks. My poor husband. I hope he doesn't read this thread and realize what he missed. Whoops!

I might suggest an abdominal pillow to go between you and the seat belt. Besides that, you should be fine (as long as you're off pain meds like everyone else said).

shakes are awful surgery may 28
aquitenonnymouse replied to brutallyhonest's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like Unjury brand for protein powder to make shakes. The other brands I tried were gross or had fillers and things other than whey protein isolate as the protein source. -

I'm issuing a weekend challenge
aquitenonnymouse posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm issuing a weekend challenge. To all of you who have clothes that are TOO BIG in your closet (Laura-ven, I'm looking at you, too)... GET RID OF THEM!!! You will never need them again. Do not hold on to these clothes as a back-up plan! Plan to succeed! I'm going to take a look in my closet and dresser and make three piles: -keep because it fits me, is comfortable, and looks good on me -throw it away because no one else would want that nasty old/dirty/torn/worn out thing anyways, and -donate! I always found it frustrating when the only plus size things at Salvation Army were muumuus. My nice things will go directly there. Good luck, and God speed! Challenge accepted. Do it, and do it right! -
SOMEday it'll come back!

Ohmygosh. I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything right then. Hilarious. Hrm... maybe run it up a flagpole and see if anyone salutes? Temporary sail for a rowboat? -

I used the time pre-op to make sure my head was in the game. I DID go out for a nice dinner with my husband a few days before surgery. We saw a movie and had sushi because my doctor asked me to stay away from sticky things for a long time post-op (especially white rice). I had a full meal, certainly, but I didn't stuff myself silly like I would have a year before. You still have time. Get your head in the game! You'll need it.
