Updated photos for almost 6 months out.
aquitenonnymouse posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I couldn't figure out how to add these photos to my last post, so I'm putting them here. I had surgery November 16th 2012. The first is a pre-op picture from last March. I weighed about 330lbs. The workout gear picture was taken April 25th, 2013 right before doing a C25k unit. I probably weighed 237? The blue/white dress pictures were taken May 4th, 2013, and I weighed 234lbs. Highest weight- 330 Surgery- 310 Current- 233 My clothes fit VERY differently when I'm wearing shapewear. In the blue/white dress I'm wearing a shapewear slip which definitely smooths out the skin and makes clothes fit better. I'm not wearing shapewear in my workout clothes. I find myself dressing up more than I did before because I'm feeling good. I'm definitely having a surge of confidence right now. Edit: I am 25 years old and 5'10" tall.- 12 replies

Breast Reduction/Lift *Graphic Pics
aquitenonnymouse replied to DEZ1975's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Thanks for posting these pictures. It's so helpful to actually see them! I wish there was a way for me to have a reduction/lift done without it impacting my ability to breastfeed. My breasts are so flat and low I think it will make it hard to breastfeed. I don't really care about them not being firm, but positioning will be difficult. -

eating over 1000 calories today, freaking out, talk me down please!
aquitenonnymouse replied to Globetrotter's topic in Fitness & Exercise
It actually sounds like your body could use MORE calories for the exercise you're doing. You're in the anorexic range for what your body needs. You won't loose weight if your body is in survival mode. I bet if you increase your calories and dietary fat a little the weight will start to come off again. Good luck! -
any suggestions on alternatives to coffee?

You could try black tea if you're still looking for caffeine. I find it tasty. -

should i get a scale
aquitenonnymouse replied to blackie220's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Different things work for different people. When I don't see the number move for a few days, It reminds me to stay on course, or get back on track. That method doesn't work for everyone, but for me... I need a scale. -

Check the common ingredients. Maybe there is something in them? Have you tried pure Whey Protein Isolate with no mixers or added ingredients? -

I feel like strangers are nicer to me than they used to, and I'm still obese. No one has been cruel to me, but I definitely feel like people interact with me differently. Heck, I probably interact with them differently too. -
high protein tofu from trader joes
aquitenonnymouse replied to pottergirl's topic in Vegetarian, vegan, raw foods
I really like the texture of tofu. It's firm, but smooth and soft. Contradictory? Yes. I really like it pressed, sliced into 1/2" slices, and marinated in soy sauce, garlic, and hot pepper flakes, and then pan fried until it becomes darkened. Then top it with a little reduced marinade mixed with orange juice, a little brown sugar (or honey or agave), and grated ginger. Yummy! You can also lightly coat it with corn starch before putting it in the frying pan to give it a bit of a crust when it cooks.
