So I've come to understand after undergoing the process of surgery ,that most people come to seek surgery after years and years of being overweight and unhappy. I myself also fit into that category. However I also learned that most people have come accross a traumatic event in their life to aid to their obesiety. I do not share that similarity. I came to be the way I always was because of one simple reason. I LOVE FOOD! I love to cook it, smell it, analyse it, eat it, talk about it, work with it. you name it im all about it! food started as a happy place for me at a very young age, I was blessed with a mother who is a wonderful cook. I learned to cook young and fell in love. (now I am a better cook than my mother but dont you dare tell her that!!!) I enjoy cooking for people, serving people, hosting extravagent dinner parties, making elaborate meals, the works. it is beyond my joy, it is my passion.
Now having said all that, yeah im overweight. over the years I attempted to cook healthy, eat right etc, but let me tell you eating greens just doesnt give me butterflies quite like a nice big juicy burger with bacon and avocado, rolled in blue cheese, and crisp tomatoes and lettuce piled on with pickled onions throughout... here i go again....
About two years ago I was priveledged to become an auntie to my wonderful neice. She is absolutley extraordinary! but man does she wear me out. I was also married the man of my dreams in June of 2012. Him and I wast kids very badly, but I can literally play with my niece for a couple hour and im out of breath. So together my husband and I decided to get in better shape. I struggled to loose 10lbs and my husband soared and lost about 30lbs. Thank goodness for my primary care doctor suggesting surgery. I attended an information class on October 25th, began loosing weight, and had my surgery on January 23, 2013. So far I am thrilled and continuing to loose weight. I would recommend this surgery to anyone who struggles. I know we all have it in us. yes will power is a difficult thing to overcome and frankly we never will. but this tool has the power to help me do amazing things, and i'm thrilled to see whats next on my journey!
