    This is so hard...

Every doctor and hospital does it differently, but all I had for the first 7 days was clear liquids. When I did move on to protein drink it was 3 oz at a time, Your new tummy does not have room for all the pills and an entire anything ! I would agree too much too fast.
  2. I started taking regular vitamins about 6 weeks out. Have you tried Flintstones chewables ? That is what my doctor recommends right after surgery.
  3. I would skip your own nightgowns and go with what the hospital supplies. My hospital also had slippers for walking. You might want a bathrobe if you think that would be more comfortable than using another gown to cover up. Chapstick is a must ! You won't get anything to drink the first day, and you really won't feel like drinking a lot (even though they will be pushing you to) during your hospital stay. I brought a small tube of lotion and it really made me feel better - the air in the hospital was very dry. ipad is a good idea. Good luck !

    January 21st!

I think it is too much too ! I'm on day 8 and I am only allowed to have 3 oz of atkins shakes at each meal. That and Clear liquids or diet Jello (goal is 64 oz a day). I have to stick with this stage until I see the doctor next week.

    January 21st!

I had my surgery on the 21st too. I was in the hosptal until Thursday morning. No complications, I just think my doctor is very conservative. I have had no pain meds since they took the self adminstered (via IV) away first thing Wednesday morning. I am feeling good but my 'nurse' aka my husband is making sure I don't overdo. I am on Clear Liquids until tomorrow, when I start atkins shakes, etc until I see the doctor on 2/7. I have not weighed myself yet becase they pumped me so full of fulid in the hospital. I'm doing pretty well getting all my liquids in, partly because my mouth is still dry. I'm not having any problems with wanting 'real' food. I am looking forward to getting outside to walk (it's too cold now here in western NY) and getting back to work tomorrow (I work at home so I can rest a bit if I need to.
