  1. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  2. My Fluid intake is minimal I'm not thirsty or hungry. The hydrocodone I'm on makes me tired. Is it unusual not to be hungry right away? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  3. Thanks for the heads up on the deli meat. I sent an email and patiently waiting. I've read in here about purchasing some Gas-X did you find this helpful? What are your consuming right now in liquids? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  4. My doctor is Dr Hamilton with the KC Bariatric clinic for Shawnee Mission. I'm going to start a video diary tonight on my iPad I want to be able to watch the highs and lows of this journey. Are you recording anything? What was day 1 like after surgery?? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  5. Thank you both for the encouraging words. Day 1 of this liquid diet I'm not too sure of but I'm committed. How was this experience for each of you. Did you find the liquid diet easy to follow?? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  6. Today my countdown begins: 15 days, 14 hours and 45 minutes until I become a national statistic of a success story or failure. I officially start the required low calorie liquid diet today at midnight (I'm thinking what the f**k am I going to do) and went through my fridge/cupboards giving away any and all temptations. I will conquer this task as I promote with a smile in front of my friends and family as I officially drop the surprise. Yet deep inside I smell fear and defeat I'm truly trying to keep my head in the game. My true fear is how am I going to manage my blood sugars and insulin I forgot to mention I am boarder line type I diabetic but started this journey diagnosed with type II in 2002 when from out or nowhere my body succumb to Diabetic Ketoacidosis resulting in having to be put into a medical induced coma for three weeks all along with having a blood transfusion and on dialysis for 39 days. Today I'm at 251 lbs I've gained weight over the holidays and have been on an eating binge in silence. I've gone through the "this is my last meal" excuse. Tonight for my final meal I had two healthy servings of Tator Tot Casserole and two tall servings of Bacardi and Diet Coke. While typing this story my sister came over I emptied my cup boards and shipped the contents to her home. I feel bad knowing she too is morbidly obese and needs to loose weight but a student working part time trying to better herself. We all come from many disadvantages to some degree but I hope to meet some friendly faces and in depth conversations. My name is Jon and my weight goal is 170lbs my goal date will be Friday, April 4, 2014 that's 380 days, 14 hrs and 44 minutes

  8. As part of my approval process I have to account for my weight history for five yrs and two of these yrs I was unemployed and uninsured. This leaves me in having to write a letter to my insurance company explaining the lapse of medical documentation which I wasn't insured. Has anyone prepared or have a letter to share as an example in formatting this scenario? You're help would be greatly appreciated!

    Who Are You?

Greetings, my name Jon. I live in Lenexa, Kansas. I am a 35-year-old Hispanic male with type II diabetes possibly on the verge of being type I. I've been overweight for nearly 30 years of life. I have been at the lowest at 170 pounds and at my heaviest at 280 pounds. I love food, I eat when I'm bored and I eat my emotions. Last month after the holidays I made the decision that I was going to explore the option of doing a weight loss procedure. After countless days/ hours surfing the Internet watching YouTube testimony videos I made the decision to pursue the vertical sleeve option. Two weeks ago I had my first meet and greet session with the surgeon I selected Dr. G. Brice Hamilton, M.D. He made a very strong first impression of course I wasn't prepared to ask questions. I will be ready for my 2nd consultation this is for certain. I'm scared of the unknown. I do not have a friend who has walked down this path. The few people that I've shared with seem to be supportive but deep into their eyes I can tell they do not understand. There is so much to read and I know that it is my responsibility. If there are any local or national people who see/read this post please say, hi. I sure could use the company during the unknown journey. What's the consensus have many of you documented your journey via video??
