Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?
Success2013 replied to *Dean*'s topic in Fitness & Exercise
Carol it was the first time I've ran on a treadmill, but it was fairly easy, you decide how fast to run and it's only for 60 seconds at a time to start. -
Revision questions for those who can relate!
Success2013 replied to cyncitygirl's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I didn't have a revision, just the sleeve, but I can eat a while yogurt or drink a whole shake, but food is a whole different story. and each meat is different on how much I can eat. the food scale is a life saver! some meats I can only have 1 ounce and others I can eat 2 ounces. -

Do they have a Wimp to 5k? I started yesterday and only made it through 10 minutes. My legs hurt all afternoon and this morning. But Wimps of the World unite! I shall wimp onward!!! -
so basically if I could find a way to be 4 inches taller, then I wouldn't be overweight. lol

okay all of you have really motivated me. I downloaded the free app Couch to 5k on my iPhone. I have a son that started competing in Triathlons a couple of years ago and last year he told me he really wants me and his Dad to at least start joining him in a few 5k races. I cried because I felt like I was letting him down. that was one of the turning points for me to have the surgery. So I promised him that I would work to be able to join him in a race by May. I am 5 weeks post op and I'm not going to let back and knee problems deter me. Onward I go! -

also I just wanted to let you know how very much it means to those of us still in the beginning of our journey or those halfway and struggling, for someone like you to take the time to share and answer questions. you truly can make a difference in other people's lives. God Bless you! -

my surgery was jan 21st. I'm 54 years old and today makes 5 weeks and I've only lost 17 pounds. it's a bit frustrating that the last 2 weeks I have bounced up and down instead of steady losing more. but I'm trying to stay positive and believe that it will come off in time. I figure if I only lost 6 pounds a month from here on, then I would be another 60 pounds down by Christmas, which would put me at 157 and although I'm aiming for between 138-148, I would be ecstatic too see the 150's again!

Success2013 replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I can tell you that I could NEVER go to the movies without getting my popcorn with lots of the buttery oil on it and a Dr. Pepper, Well I went to the movies Wednesday night to see Safe Haven and I packed a dill pickle and a cheese stick and some decaf sugar free iced tea (I would have bought from the theater but they didn't sell any of these). Anyway I walked right past the concession stand and didn't even think about it. I shocked myself. but yes I would love some popcorn if it wasn't dangerous to my sleeve. I'm almost 5 weeks post op. -
