5'6" and weighed 225-235 surgery day?

It's been 6 and 1/2 months and as of today I'm done from 232 to 176, 56 pounds down. Need to lose at least 20 more, but could go as much as 40.
  2. I just had my 6 month surgiversary. Didn't reach the goal I had planned for at 6 months, but I'm still extremely grateful to be down 52 pounds. I know I would never be here without the surgery. Guys with low T

one of my friends (a 50 yr old female) said that not only does her husband get testosterone injections, but her doc is giving her testosterone with bioidentical hormones in a pellet every 6 months and it has really helped her libido. any women tried this?
  5. I feel the same way. sleeved 1/21 and down around 45 pounds. current weight 187. I've been playing with the same 2 pounds for weeks. can eat most anything. I average around 800 calories. I try to get up to around 1000-1100 at least once a week. I still need to lose at least 40 more.
  6. I have a silly question. Does anyone know the reason we are suppose to wait 15 minutes after drinking to eat and then wait 45 minutes after to drink? I'm sure there's an important reason, but someone asked me and I didn't know what to tell them.
  7. My new NSV is being able to shop on the right side of the store when I go in a Cato or Dress Barn store. lol. They have regular Misses sizes to the right and Women's sizes to the left. I get Lane Bryant catalogs in the mail and can now put them in the trash. Yippee!

    January Newbies ! Progress ?

Surgery was 1/21/13 and I'm down 38 pounds. Much slower than I had planned, but still very grateful. starting weight was 232 and I'm now at 194. I'm 5 ft 6 inches tall.
  11. I hit 199.4 on the scales this morning which puts me at 33 pounds lost in 3 months. MUCH slower than I had anticipated and hoped for, but I'm still very happy, because without the sleeve it would have never happened. I really wanted to be down in the 160's by the end of July to wear a swimsuit for my hubby's birthday. I'm doing my protein, water, vitamins etc. if I can get the anemia under control then hopefully I can walk more and get this weight loss speeded up!
  12. I with y'all. sleeved jan 21 and down 33 pounds. if you find a miracle way for us to speed up, let me know! lol
  13. First of all a BIG Congrats! Way to go! Second, the key to insecurity issues with your spouse may. simply be constant reassurance and letting him know how hot he is to you. Third is a question about your anemia the first 3 months. I'm 3 months out and my blood work showed I'm anemic and totally sleepy all the time. What did you do to fix the problem?
  14. I was 5'7", but at my pre-op apt they said I was only 5'6". wish I could shrink the width rather than height. anyway my surgery was Jan 21, 2013. weighed 232. as of today I weigh 204. 28 pounds total lost. 15 the first month, 10 the second month and only 3 so far the 3rd month. I'm really, really frustrated.
  15. so what's your tips for success? I started at 232 dos on jan 21 and have tried everything to lose more, but I keep toggling around 27-28 pounds for weeks.
  16. I called my surgeon because I have been EXTREMELY sleepy, needing 10 hours of sleep or I'm a zombie all day and I feel frustrated that I've only lost 2 pounds that past 3 weeks and it's only been 11 weeks since my surgery. I lost 15 pounds the 1st month, 10 pounds the 2nd month and as of this morning it looks like a total of 3 pounds so far this 3rd month, but it keeps bouncing up and down. My surgeons office said that since I was a self pay, that I should go to my pcp and ask them to do blood work. So instead of calling my PCP, I called my Endocronologist (thyroid doc). Had my apt. yesterday with my thyroid doc. 1. my lab work showed that my TSH was low, it was 0.032 and it should be between .358 and 3.74. 2. Also my WBC (white blood cell) was low, 4.3 and should be 5.0-10.0. 3. And my RDWSD was high at 52.2 and should be between 36.4-46.3. And my RDWCV (red blood) was high, 16.4 and should be 11.5-14.5. 4. He also said my Vitamin D was a little low for a thyroid patient, but my B12 was high (probably because I take the 5000mcg every day) 5. And he said my Iron was low, but didn't say what I should do about that. I'm wondering if it could be because I have not been getting hardly any veggies or fruits, i've been focusing on Protein. Any suggestions? I take my 2 Multivitamins and B12 every day. 6. I told him I have to take Unisom or Benadryl every night to sleep and he said that consistent use of Benadryl (antihistamines) can cause weight gain and that because I grind my teeth (badly) I'm not getting through all the sleep cycles. He prescribed Klonopin .5mg for me to try instead. He raised my synthroid from .088mcg to .112mcg. I'm wondering if this will help my weight loss and my energy???? He also prescribed weekly shots of Bydureon. I'm a little nervous about starting these. Is anyone else on this medicine? I tried Byetta several years ago, but they made me very nauseous when I started the higher dose and couldn't take them. He said this newer drug has less side effects. Sorry this is soooooo long, but I know I can count on all the wonderful friends from this forum to share their experience or their expertise if they are a nurse or doctor. I hope this may help some others on here as well. Thanks so much!

Low Thyroid, Bydureon & Anemic questions

From what I'm reading, the doctor should have decreased my dosage. Unless he is looking at my overall health and other test. I'm confused.
