2 Years Out: What do you do now?

hi I a just about 2 years out. I have not reached my goal, I have not gained, and I have had long periods of not loosing. but I have recently gone back on "my fitness pal". I find it inspiring. I am on the computer a lot so it is easy for me to plug in what I am eating, and I have a set work out schedule, I enter that also. it is very user friendly and a great tool. great amount of useful info, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to lose and improve their health. you will always know "why" you are not losing, in clear helpful way, good luck
  3. well i have had many challenges, but not being able to glug water, was a shocker. it gets very hot in my hosp, i did not tell one single person at work. i love nursing been in acute care for 30 years, but nurses talk, and i don't want to be judged. i have been loosing very slowly, so i have not had a big physical change. i took one week off and i was fine, looking back i should have done things differently. Gas X/simethacone is a must, can't manage with out it. helps with hyper-salivation and gurgling, and meal planning, you know the creb cycle. if you don't get in 40-60mgs of protein you will not heal, you will feel like joe shits dog, and you hair will thin out. i would rather be fat than exercise, so i walk, you really have to commit, because you are not going to feel too peppy and have protein shakes at hand for nourshment at all times. good luck
  4. sadly no one had noticed
  5. Protein bar, calorie count pre-packaged nuts, Jerky, string cheese, 30 gram protein yogurt, apples, can of sardines ( breath mints), slimfas 20gram Protein shake, alot of fluids. good luck
  6. the most valuable thing i learned on this site was GAS-X, i also use equate gas relief from ww, it is cherry flavored simethicone., you still have to chew your food and eat less at meals. but you don't get punished after every meal. hope it helps!

    Anyone from Minnesota

try dvd Zumba at home. you are in a rut, don't fall off the cliff, happens, it the holiday season, even happy people get depressed around the holidays, maybe you could do a random act of kindness for someone, then do one for yourself, and go to the gym. it is usually hi calorie snacking that contributes to low to no weight loss. plan ahead, have Snacks with you. set a goal, get there and let that be it's own reward. good luck

    No loss in 1 yr

i agree with SS. also i think because we are in this situation you need to consider self-sabotage. we have all done it, that is why we are here.sadly. if your surgery is validated, and you are in fact sleeved, and your labs are all normal. do try a do over. do the shakes for 6 weeks, then 30mgs of Protein for three meal, and no carb Snacks. drink all the darn Water and take the power multivites. if you are sleeved, that is unchanged. (anyone with a vertical sleeve can still drink Hershey syrup) you did do this surgery for a reason, get you mind set, get a goal, take baby steps, in one direction, go to the gym, and be good to yourself, no not snack bad, you don't reward alcoholics with booze if they have been sober for a few months.. please keep a good thought and keep us posted

    My Fannie Pack

i hope this helps. think of this procedure, FOR YOUR HEALTH! not beauty. every time you see something sagging bagging and dragging, you are hear to looks at it. there ate many people dead in cemetery's who died from obesity. and you won't be one of them. let that be enough.
  10. we all know we are going to hit the wall someday, i think that scares me more than surgery, even with all my limitations, i don't feel like i am,"dieting". i am loosing so slowly now i am going to have to diet to reach goal....shades of bad memories
  11. gas x worked for the voices in y gut and i just can't even tell you how much better i feel using gas x /simethacone, cheap it is not digested by the body. i take it after meals and before bed. it is the best tip i got from this site, good luck, let us know how you are doing

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

hi from western ny. had a vs almost a year ago . i have lost 57 lbs. it seems very slow too me and i have 43lbs to goal..people are starting to notice, i find it alittle embarrassing. sleep apnea is gone diabetes is gone. still have bloody high blood pressure, but i guess thin people have that too. my surgical group was obnoxious, and i stopped going, and my regular doctor has been supportive. i joined the YMCA and i am enjoying it. i have learned alot from this group, thanks

    Boils!

i hate the thought of people opening these boils with out extreme caution, because of further risk of infection and healthy tissue damage. But if you are going to do it. you might want to try the coke bottle method. scrub a glass coke bottle with Clorox put it in pan of boiling water about 1/3 covered standing up. heat it up to the point you can stand touching it, scrub the boil site and dry, place the opening of the coke bottle over the boil and hold it there, the core of the boil should shoot out into the bottle, with out you touching it, put a sterile dry dressing on it, then try and relax. i think this is a bad idea, but less bad than the squeeze
  20. the Whey Shots at Walmart helped me they taste like liquid grape jello and they are 40 grams of protein low cal, but of course you still have to drink some fluids as well good luck been there it will get better

    Every damn morning!

i have the same problem, a hot beverage taken slowly helps me, also coke helps, good luck it is a yucky way to start the day.
  22. i am 58 had surg 11/12. i have not found it easy, did my share of gagging and puking, many foods won't stay down.most importantly, i no longer have sleep apnea, which was putting me in a critical heart rhythm good luck.
  23. i can only tol. very little( 3 sips?, but i do so enjoy it, and it helps me burp!
  24. hummm let me see.1. i didn't know my stomach would make loud noise "forever". 2. chronic constipation and that is with treatment. 3. i miss eating. it feel like someone shot my best friend. i had surgery for medical reasons, and it has helped. honestly i didn't mind being fat. i guess i would mind being dead. good luck and get gas x.
  25. hi i am kate LPN for about 30yrs, worked in OR, ortho, and acute care. I was sleeved in Buffalo NY in november. It has be a slow go for me.
