Any March Sleevers?
newat52 replied to futuresleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved at Forrest Park in Frisco on the 6th. Only needed one night. They are beautiful facilities! Pain has been not so bad. Walking a lot and sip, sip, sipping! -
Actually feeling pretty good. Thank goodness and knock on wood, the gas has not been bad. Soon as I start to feel it, I just walk it off. I'm sore and uncomfortable but not in what I would call pain. Got to come home yesterday and that always helps. Worst thing is I'm fighting a sinus headache. Was able to get about 30 grams of Protein yesterday from the Isopure. sleeping is not fun though, I'm a side sleeper and that is not working for me right now. I will sit back and and wait for week 2.

Would you stop please? I am only 2 days post-op and you made me laugh. In my little world right now, laughing, coughing and especially sneezing are forbidden! don't make me banish you from my little queendom!

March into Formation March Sleevers! Roll Call...
newat52 replied to AmandaRaeLeo's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I was pretty scared too even directly pre op wait go to in. Dr. Nicholson come in and was so calming and sure. He reminded me that this procedure is even less risky the a C-section. I felt better and even though I just had it yesterday, I am home and doing quite well. Was up walking few hours after I got back into my room. I am not in big pain and when I get a bit gassy, I just walk. I am so glad it's done. I think the stress and anxiety are worse that the procedure. Good luck to you and I'm sure you will do what is best for you! -

Can't say enough about the walking. Was sleeved yesterday. When I would get the gas pain in my left shoulder, I just got up and walked and it went away. Lucky so far have not had it bad. Was able to get good fluids yesterday. I got to come home today and it's been a good day. Soreness but nothing bad. -

Nail polish and surgery
newat52 replied to Linda 66's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said toes were ok, fingers not. So Tuesday I went and had an awesome pedi with sparkle polish and mani with no polish but a nice paraffin dip! Great way to spend the day before surgery! -
Any March Sleevers?
newat52 replied to futuresleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought some the other day and I agree, Not that bad. I just was sleeved yesterday and am home. So far, no problems and just starting to sip on one for my clear liquids and some protein. I think I will buy a case from Amazon. I'm thinking these things could be a recipe for success in the first couple of weeks. The more protein we can get, the faster we will heal. -
anyone sleeved yesterday?
newat52 replied to merade123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Was sleeved yesterday too. 3/6. Home now. Was up walking about 3 hours after I got back to my room. Walking and sipping all afternoon and evening. Liquids are staying down and staying ahead of the pain. Keep walking sand sipping! -
Two thumbs pointing at me! That's who!! Back in my room ( which is a beautiful two room suite actually) slept and then got up and have been walking and sitting in a chair since about 3. Sipping very slow and ice chips are da' bomb! So far so good. Walking laps in my new pretty pink robe. Figure if I'm gonna walk around belching and farting, may as well look like a lady doing it! Sho far staying ahead of the pain. In discomfort but very manageable so far! Disclaimer: not responsible for loopy spelling. Still on drugs.:-)

New to forum just 4 weeks post op
newat52 replied to Sami43's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats Sami! What an accomplishment so far! Keep up the great work and welcome. Tomorrow is my big day and starting to get nervous. -
I bought the big container and it is a pretty big scoop that is used for the 20 grams of Protein serving. Probably at least a 1/4 cup.
-
I have used it in sugar free jello as a protein boost. I love it in the black cherry but I could really taste it in the lime. Going to try it in morning coffee and see. That's all I've tried it in so far.
-
Tomorrow morning I'm doing the same. Pre-surgery mani/pedi to help with the nerves before the big day on Wednesday! Have fun!
