    Any March Sleevers?

I am 3 weeks and having my first egg right now. Been on liquids since surgery. Kind of scary but so far so good! Good luck!
  3. I guess the point is not getting air in your tummy?
  4. My diet stuff says no straws or gum for 4 weeks. I am a straw person so I miss it!
  5. Thanks for sharing that. It is harder in our 50's.
  6. Safe travels! Keep us posted!
  7. Try ice chips. They just melt in your mouth and they are so refreshing. That worked very well for me for the first couple of days.

    6 months since surgery

WowZaa! You look fantastic! I can only imagine you feel even better! Very inspirational! Thanks for sharing that. I don't know about most folks but love looking at the before and after and seeing how much this surgery can change someone's life for the better!

    Scared of Pain!

It really is not bad for most people. My advice is pain meds. Ask early and often. That is what they are there for. Also, for most people, the fear and stress of the upcoming surgery are WAY worse then the surgery and recovery in it's self. Good luck, you can do it!

    Post op march sleevers

I was sleeved on the 6th and like you had an amazingly easy surgery and recovery. I am 3 weeks out as of today. I am still on liquids till tomorrow then I can have soft foods. I have felt great most days but then I get one that I just feel wiped! I'll sleep late, take a nap and still be in bed early. I don't get it but must be my body telling me to slow down a bit. I am most days walking about 3 miles divided in two walks. I would say just listen to your body and take it easy when you feel like this. I can't speak to the nausea though. I'm not sure why that would happen unless you are introducing new foods?

what to tell, who to tell, when to tell...

I can be. I think it gets easier the older we get. When I was younger, I thought that if someone asked as question that I had to answer. As 've gown older and more mature it is easy now. Some one asks me "how much weight have you lost? My reply, "a good amount" or "not quite as much as I would have liked". I then change the subject. Or they ask how have you lost so much weight? My reply is "A lot of hard work" That is the absolute truth. If they persist for details, I just look at them and say it's really just not up for discussion. Thanks for understanding. That usually does it.

    Tough times

I will be 3 weeks post op tomorrow. Have been on liquids since the surgery. Plus 4 weeks of pre-op diet. My surgery got delayed two weeks so that why the extra pre op. For me, I have not had a really hard time with the liquids for whatever reason. I am a little nervous but looking forward to start soft foods on Thursday. The toughest thing for me by far and away is constipation. Never has it been this bad. I am a rockstar on getting in at least 80 oz of liquid and 70-90 grams of Protein. It's not just liquid in-liquid out. The protein is a big poo maker. I am miserable when I try to go. There is zero Fiber going in. Not. Good. At. All. Tried stool softeners, Milk of Magnesia and still have to resort to suppositories. Today I have started benefiber and see how that helps. I never thought for a moment that would be my biggest issue. Other than that, I have been so blessed to have thus far had an very easy time since surgery. (knock on wood!) Hope the same doesn't happen to you. (or the opposite that some folks have)

what to tell, who to tell, when to tell...

I chose to keep my surgery private. That is not out of line with how I live my life. I am a private person by nature and have never talked about my medical issues or personal issues with most people. That's who I am. Some people are an open book and have no problem sharing every detail about themselves. That's who they are and I respect that. I would say if you are on the fence, make sure you really want to tell people and be prepared for any and all reactions. Just remember, you can't unring a bell and once you make it public there is no going back. There is no right or wrong answers. Everyone needs to do what is right for them. Some here will judge though, I have been told I am lying, and" living a fake life, but hey if that's what you want" from people in the forum. I guess for them, if everyone doesn't do as they do, it's wrong. Sheesh! Takes all kinds! Good luck to you, you will know what is right for YOU!

    Any March Sleevers?

I only stayed one night too. I was self pay and had two nights but I had no nausea or trouble keeping up with the liquids. I also walked like a mad woman so I asked if I could go home. Of course, in hindsight I probably should have stayed since they parked me in a beautiful 2 room suite! That doesn't happen every day! lol!
  21. Sorry sorry sweetie! Will send up a prayer for you!
  22. This is the first time in oh...FOREVER that I am not sorry to see winter go! I am freaking freezing all the time. I sit with an electric throw and crawl in to a warm electric blanket. It sure didn't see that coming! But Come on summer!
