    Recovery

Sleeve was way easier than my c-sections (mine were 27 & 30 years ago) I popped back up pretty well. One thing to make sure though, is that you get good rest. Presuming you have an easy recovery as I did, you will still be tired by early evening, probably sooner for you since you are looking after little ones.

    Drinking with Meals

I have to push my glass away. It was a hard habit to break but once you don't have a glass around, it does get easier.

    2 .5 months post op

Not to shabby indeed! Pretty stellar if you ask me! Woot Woot!

    Stomach stretching!?!?

This is something I am going to have to be very careful with. As I approach 9 weeks out, I can eat a bit more now and I don't track calories and carbs, I do weigh my Proteins even though I can eyeball it easily. I don't want to get in the habit of just one more slice of turkey. Getting sleeved was easy for me. Following post op was easy for me. Now that I am off any restrictions, the hard work began then. Good luck to you, it is hard to stay the course.

Not as much support as I thought.

I think I got the gist of your post. I'm sorry your man is being a butt. Can you please make your font larger? Even with my reading glasses it was very difficult to read.

    SELF PAY QUESTION

Currently, in the Dallas/Ft.Worth metroplex you can get all inclusive for anywhere from 11-14K. I am almost 9 weeks out and my self pay was with a top surgeon in the field (there are MANY top surgeons in the area to choose from. $12,200 All inclusive including all pre-op, hospital (2 nights) OR and NUT. The only thing that is not covered is if during the pre-op if they find something wrong, the fix is not covered, obviously. For instance, my EKG came back with an abnormality, I had to go see a Cardiologist and that was not included but I would not have expected that to be.

    When can we drink soda

A midwesterner if ever there was one! I bet you sit on the davenport too! Takes one to know one!
  12. Dang! And you slept through the whole thing? What a waste of eye candy! :P
  13. Jeez! Sorry about the pneumonia! No bueno! It will probably depend on how fast you recover. Your surgeon will make the call but I'm guessing he will want you fully recovered for at least a couple weeks. It will be much harder to recover from surgery if your body is trying to recover from illness at the same time. Hope you feel better soon.

    Suggestions on what to eat?

Did you call your Dr. yesterday? This should not be happening but somehow you have to get more hydration. JennyBeth is right, stay stay upright, it will help with the digestion. Please get in touch with the dr. It may just be that you are so dehydrated that once you get hydrated you might be good to go. Please let us know.
  15. Excuse me, but is this not the self pay & Mexico forum?
  16. Those are not all mandatory prior to surgery. Insurance may require it before they pay but not if you are self pay. I had my surgery in Dallas and was self pay. Didn't have a psy visit, didn't need one. Didn't have a RUQ ultrasound, don't even know what is, nor a sleep study because I don't have sleep apena. As far as the other tests, they were all included in the self pay price of $12,200. That included everything, plus follow ups for life and NUTs. Included ALL hospital fees as well. Not to mention the awesome 2 room suite they put me in. All this done with a top bariatric surgeon. When it was time to leave the hospital, it was a 12 minute drive. All that to me, adds up to a very reasonable price. The fact that there are becoming more places like this across the US is very encouraging. People who choose not to go to Mexico do so for lots of reasons. I think it's great there are becoming more choices here and other countries. I also don't think the original OP is advertising,

    intense exercise and libido

I'm not sure about the science behind it but I know that when I work out regularly= way better times in the bedroom. For me, it's about feeling better about myself. BTW: You look fantastic! You must feel that way too!

    Later on in life...

I am on pepcid for 3 months but then I will take it if needed but have had acid for years so I anticipate will be a lifetime thing. Beats the heck out of BP, cholesterol and the like, wouldn't you agree?

    Food for Road Trip

@Chitowngirl I have never heard of kind bars. Please tell me about them and where do you get them? @Laura V, I even packed my premier shakes in a ziplock and then a rubbermaid and checked them in my luggage, wasn't sure if they would explode since they are cardboard with foil opening. Made it through just fine and they saved my life since I was eating out 4 days straight.

    so nervous! TMI!

And the problem with that is????

    Food for Road Trip

Perhaps take a cooler of course stocked with Water but also some of your favorite pre made Protein shakes. I would also suggest the foil pouches of tuna and salmon. Depending on what type of diet your NUT has you on maybe bananas or other soft fruit? Safe travels

    Later on in life...

I think it depends on the individual and one's diet after. For me, if I need to forever, I'm ok with it.

    tomato soup ?

I had it 3 times a day on the full liquid part of my post op. Had it not been for that, I may have not survived. Good luck to you. 1 week out is not the best time but I can tell you it will get SO much better and you will be loving your sleeve and your new life. I'm not that far ahead of you but the difference between 1 week and 8 is amazing and you will be so happy so just hang in there!

    Suggestions on what to eat?

If you are only drinking 7 oz of Water you are severely dehydrated sweetie. You need to see or at least speak with your doctor. Is food actually making you sick or is it just the thought of it? Until you can get on track at least try to drink your Protein. Try some protein spiked sugarfree pudding. Or mix up some fruit Protein Shakes if you can. I'm sorry you are having a hard time. At 8 weeks you should be feeling better. I'm worried about you. How is your energy?
  25. newat52

    How will this be different?

That is so excellent! Sounds like all your ducks are lined up! Next stop, pre-op diet!
