    A day in my world...

If this is his "normal" way of thinking and says things like this all the time, it's probably a good time to think if this is healthy for you.
  3. So sorry. Call and see what you can take, If you can nip it now, you will probably still be fine. Didn't I tell you to say away from the the cooties???

    Low Caloric Intake

My go to was sugarfree pudding. It helped me so much. Take your favorite sugarfree instant pudding. Mine is chocolate. Take 1 and 1/4 cup(10oz ) of skim milk. Add a scoop of Protein powder. I have used chocolate, vanilla and unflavored. ( I am a big fan of the Unjury) Blend the milk and Protein Powder, then add the pudding. I divide into to bowls and chill. It is about 15 grams of protein, and about 175 calories which you really need right now. In the beginning, I added two scoops which took the calories up 50 and the protein up to 25 grams! You would be surprised how much better you will feel. Also, with it being a soft food, it's easier to get it down and doesn't make you feel overstuffed. This helped me so much so I hope it helps you!

    Nauseas

Sounds like you are having a rough time of it. So sorry to hear that. How are your liquids going down? If you are dehydrated, it can make you feel nausea in your stomach. Could you be on a medication that is contributing to that? If you are not on a nausea medication, maybe ask about one. Until you can get your tummy feeling better I can imagine you won't want to eat. You have to try though, and if you can get a bit down, it might make you start to feel better, especially Protein. Try some protein spiked sugarfree pudding. Blend in the Protein powder and skim milk then add the pudding and it blends it up nice and you can't taste the protein. It could sooth your tummy and calm it down. I'm sorry you are not feeling good yet. sometimes it just takes longer so hang in there and hopefully soon you will grow to love your sleeve.

    Average hospital stay?

I was told to expect two nights but I was there only one. I had a very easy post op period. I slept for about 3 hours after I got back to my room. The nurse came in and asked me if I wanted to try and pee and walk. I didn't get back in the bed till about 9 that night when I went to sleep. I was much more comfortable sitting in the comfy chair and it was SO much easier to get up from that to walk. I did that every hour. That helped a great deal. I was so very lucky in that I had no nausea so I was able to sip and munch on ice chips and keep it down. Good luck!

    food tricks

That is brilliant! Had not thought of that! I have used a tablespoon of sugarfree pudding if I want to thicken up a Protein shake though. Kind of a treat! I also add spike sugarfree pudding with Protein powder. Its a great night time snack when I want something chocolate!

    food tricks

I have heard several people use sugarfree jam in theirs. I was not able to do it for 6 weeks though because I was restricted on the seeds in the berries but everyone seems to have a different post op diet. Have you tired Dannon Fit and light. It's greek yogurt and has only 80 calories and 12 grams of Protein and I think only 7 grams of sugars. It's some yummy stuff!
  11. Anytime! Glad I could be a bit of help. This is not a decision to take lightly so any help we get! You can PM me anytime.
  12. Hey there, I understand how you feel. My stats are (were) very similar to yours. I would diet every January without fail, and would lose 30 pounds. Every year by Dec I was back where I was if not more. Highest was 241 but always around 220-230. My metabolism was not good either from all the yoyo dieting. I decided I couldn't do it anymore and looked into the band but after researching, knew the sleeve was right for me. Fast forward a couple of months and I'm ready for surgery. I was self pay and stayed stateside so big $$$$ $12,200 to be exact. I knew if I was going to do this I had to own it and understand it's not a magic bullet, that it would take time. I have always been a slow loser and fast gainer. I knew I would have to be patient. I will be 10 weeks post op on Wednesday. I can honestly say, this was the best thing I could have done for my health the only thing I regret is not doing it sooner. My transformation thus far has been amazing. I am 52 and 5'2" and started my pre op at 220. Today I weighed in at 177. That is somewhat slow compared to other sleevers but it is by no means slow at all! I have lost, stalled and stayed at the same weight for several weeks but my body was shedding inches when that happened. Stalls will happen. Your body needs time to catch up so I just waited it out and sure enough, the scale has moved again. The bottom line is this: if it is working for me, I know it will work for you. I have zero regrets and I don't miss my old way of eating, mostly because I can see every day what this is doing for me. Last week I got blood work back and I was stunned. Not only is my weight and more inches coming off but my labs are great! My blood pressure is perfectly normal as is my cholesterol (down over 35 points) and triglycerides and everything else are normal as well. Needless to say, I feel healthy from the inside out! I just saw a lot of myself in your post and want you to know it can and WILL work for you if you work for it. I can eat most anything at this point, just not a lot. I do keep my diet healthy because it feels better. My NUT does not have me on low carb. My meals are balanced. I focus on Protein first and veggies second and carbs last. I did have a few fries last week when hubby and I went out. He was hankering for a burger so we went out and shared a great burger. I just took the bun off and enjoyed it along with a few fries. They were good but not as good as I remembered. I added a few slices of tomato and had a healthy lunch while still feel like I was splurging a bit. Life is good that way now. I am not deprived and life is my new normal but still enjoy life. Hubby and I love wine. I have a glass of wine every Friday and Saturday and enjoy every drop of he glass. ( I was OK'd by the surgeon and NUT after 6 weeks) I just have to account for it. Good luck with your decision, I'm sure you will make the right one for you. You are welcome to PM me if you have questions.

    Take that!

ROTFLMAO!!!!!! You go girl! Love it! :) :)
  14. My favorite way was to make some Protein spiked sugarfree pudding. I blend a scoop of either chocolate or unflavored and have also used vanilla Protein Powder. (I use Unjury) with about 1 1/4 cup of skim milk. Then add the pudding, chocolate for me, thank you. blend it I would put it in two cups or glasses and chill. It came out to about 175 calories and 15 grams of protein. It helped when I needed the calories and if I was short on protein I could make it with a 2 scoops. Added 50 calories. Couldn't tell it was there and is really good. I still make it for a nighttime snack. Also love making a Mocha. I would take my leftover coffee. I can drink about half a cup in the morning and add chocolate protein powder and a cup of skim and it makes a pretty good mocha. This morning I wanted something thicker and added a tablespoon of chocolate sugarfree pudding and gotta say, thinkened it a bit and was yummy. I usually like those thin so I can taste the coffee flavor but this was different. Hope that gives you something to go on.
  15. I don't think you are going to die. Sure sounds like something I would do. I would say though, give your Doc a call and see what they say. I would think it might just be hard to digest at this point but better to be safe and let them know, they make have be able to give you something if they think it could be a problem. Good luck, let us know how you are doing.

    QUICK IBUPROFEN QUESTION PLEASE

Glad to hear that but glad the Ibuprofen didn't bother you. Ibuprofen works much better for me than Tylenol but I usually have to only take 200-400 mg to work. I figured I'd cross that bridge when I came to it.

    I cant even begin....

Big congrats to my fellow 3/6 sleever! That is fantastic! I am so happy for you on both accounts! 65 pounds is amazing! I have not lost that much but I am really thrilled with my progress too. Your fiancee is very lucky to have you!

    Question about Alcohol ????

I have wine each Friday and Saturday night. On Friday, about 1/3 of the way into my glass, I can feel it. On Saturday, I'm fine. My husband and I enjoy wine together and I want to continue this but I have to account for it. It was easier when I had a hard time getting to 600 calories a day but now I am up to about 800, those calories have got be owned and have to really be careful those days so I don't get light on my Protein either.
  19. Brilliant! Congrats on your goal!
  20. Generally, as a rule of thumb, when you are looking at things like Protein shakes, bars, yogurt and such look for a minimum of 10/1 ratio. For example, if it has 100 calories, it should have a minimum of 10 grams of protein. 200, 20 grams, etc. Also, watch the sugars and carbs. Good luck!
  21. Do you stay in Princeville or down on the sunny side?
  22. I have flown post op and I took string cheese, roasted edamame and some nectar Protein powder. Someone suggested boiled eggs but I didn't take those. I would highly recommend just sucking it up and buying a bunch of Water past security. You know it will taste good and you will need even more. Flying dries you out. I bought 2 24 oz bottles for a 3.5 hour trip and had about 1/4 of one left. For an 8 hour trip I would get 4. Have a fantastic trip! Hawaii is one of our favorite places. What Island(s) are you visiting?
