    Ignore user?

Dang! I always miss the good stuff!
  2. I wanna march in that parade! Yay everyone!
  3. Hang in there, it will get better. I'm a little jealous, I was on Clear Liquids for the first week and only full liquids for an additional two! Don't eat more than your surgeon or NUT says. This is very important right now as you won't be able to feel the restriction and you could damage your stomach. Keep sipping, it's a full time job for the first few weeks, but it does get easier in time. Good luck!
  4. Hide the Protein powder in things you do like. Sugarfree pudding. I mix a scoop with 12 oz oz of skim milk. Blend for a few seconds, then add the package of pudding. Let it set and you have 15 grams of protein in a serving. You can't taste it. If you are a coffee drinker, try a Mocha or latte, take the coffee, I brew a small cup, stick it in the freezer for a few minutes or just dump my leftover cold coffee in the blender with some ice, scoop of vanilla or chocolate powder, some skim milk and booyha! Instant treat. Someone posted about about the fruit, I slice and freeze a few bananas, (they last about a week before they brown). Take a few slices, a few frozen strawberries or hand full of frozen blueberries, some skim milk and scoop of vanilla and yummy fruit smoothie. Hope some of these ideas are helpful.
  5. Yes, you can eat literally anything. We all mostly can. There is no magic trick or potion. Keep the problem foods out of the house. Period. No exceptions. If you are eating carbs and other crap, you are most likely not getting enough Protein. As you are eating the crackers, you need to say, no, it's NOT ok. Not ok at all and find something else that is healthy or some other activity to get your mind off the food. I'm sure you are just venting but I also think you know exactly what you need to do. Don't let this incredible tool go to waste, especially one you paid for out of pocket. Good luck to you!
  6. Or tell them you were tending to a medical issue and I'm feeling better, thanks for asking. :-)
  7. I may be a simpleton but I just think that most people who went to Mexico, especially who went for the first time are amazed at how it went. Do I believe that some of the Docs there have staff stalking this site? Sure. But I think for the most part, people are kind of amazed that they did what they did. Did I REALLY just go to Mexico and have 85% of my stomach removed? Was it really as positive as I'd hoped? Was it really as good of an experience as people have described? Had my surgery stateside and was self pay but I do know that If I had gone to Mexico and it was as positive as people say I would be telling my story as well. I just don't think it's as sinister as some people think.
  8. I don't think you opened a can of worms at all. All you did was state your opinion clearly and respectfully. If my last post made you feel otherwise, I am sorry. That was not my intention. At all. Putting one's opinion on this forum is a good thing. It may differ with others, but as one poster said, it gives one something to think about. Having a different perspective is always good. Agree with it or not, always good to try and see another point of view. I believe that is how we grow.To share or not is highly personal. The rate of loss varies from person to person, sleeved or not. So my opinion is rate of loss is not a big deal. My general opinion is, do what is right for you to succeed at reaching your goal. Most people that have not been living under a rock know about WLS. People will look into if and when they are ready, regardless of what others do. You are doing great and I wish you the very best success and look forward to when I am as close to my goal as you are!
  9. The thing is, you are not and can not be responsible for other's success or failures. So keeping medical procedures to yourself if you so choose is not lying or being less than honest. It's just personal. That's the long of it and short of it. You are not giving false hope to others by keeping your business private. If others are watching what they eat and exercising more because you are having success, than that is great, but comparing their loss to yours is as unrealistic as people doing it here. We often see, why has everyone else lost more than me? Well the fact is, everyone loses at the pace their body can handle. Comparing to others is destructive. You will always come out on the short end of the stick. Keep doing what works for you. It's NOT, a requirement to share your medical history or any other information with anyone. Keep up the great work!

    Headaches! HELP!

Try liquid Acetaminophen. It is ok to take that. I'm sorry about the headaches. Check in with your doc tomorrow to make sure it's not something bigger but may just be lack of calories. I hope so. I am 3 months out and if I get headache I still take the liquid. It seems to cut the pain within 5-10 minutes. I will probably keep some the liquid around. Even though I don't like the taste it does it better than the pills. Good luck and hope you feel better!

    Alcohol ..

I seem to get a mini buzz about an oz into a nice glass of red wine but then nothing. I gave up white wine on my pre op diet and now only drink red. We are wine lovers so now that I drink way less of it we have been splurging on nicer wines and I enjoy them. Just not as often. :-)
  12. The older I get the less tolerant of stupid and invasive questions of people. To the question posed to you, I would have answered with this question: Why on earth would you ask me a question like that? To which the most likely they would stammer well, I'm just curious, that's all. My reply would be, yes, I can see that. Then walk away. I just have no time and patience for people trying to undermine and judge me.
  13. The beans are my favorite thing with Mexican food. I have to literally saturate them with salt on them to keep myself from that one last and over the line bite.
  14. I still mix a teaspoon of miralax in my morning shake. I had the most severe and painful constipation several times in the first 6 weeks or so. In that time our bodies are severely lacking in Fiber and trying to get the Protein in. I found a children's fiber gummy. I take about 4-5 of those throughout the day. It helps.

    First Time Dining Out Postop

Mexican food is my go to when we go out. Well, Mexican food was my go to before surgery. Now it's just different. No chips. I'm ok with that. No margaritas. I miss that in a bad way. That is hard but lots of great choices to eat healthy and down right yummy! First time out post op was scary. It's a whole unsafe world outside our safe, little sheltered world that we live in post op. I was on a trip at 6 weeks, just the day after I got released for all foods. I was one scared puppy! I did ok but I was nervous. Now, that I have been living great with my sleeve, I look forward to my next trip. East to Baltimore and DC. Seafood, here I come! You did great youngin! Keep it up!

    Constipation

I, too, was not informed about said subject. I'm beginning to think it's like the the things people never tell you about having babies. Because if they did, the population would end as we know it. Or should I say poopulation?
  17. Or... you're just into the whole pain thing?
  18. Way to go! I'm 3 months out too. I also paid cash and it was the best money I ever spent on myself! Keep up the great work!

    4 days out

Um...since you're asking, I'd like to see more. :-) Isopure? Mix it with some crystal light or Poweraid zero if you cant drink it straight. Can you give me 20 more per day? I mean, you did ask!

    4 days out

How are you doing on your protein these days? Have you found a way to get some more in?

So im doing my cardio and

You just have to feel sorry for those kind of people. It just shows you how some people can only feel good about themselves by tearing others down. Makes for an ugly soul.
  22. Thanks! It is great, that is a perfect way to explain it. I do feel high on life and I don't ever want to come down. I do wish I could have done this in my youth! I went and splurged yesterday on a new bra, (the girls are falling out the bottom of my current ones) I love it! It's pretty and lacy and dare I say, a tad on the sexy side? Me, in a sexy bra? Whodda thunk it? And a couple pairs of shorts to get me through the hot Texas summer! I am hoping by summer's end they will be falling off too! All I can say is when I get my soon to be formerly chubby butt into a pair of size 8 anything, I'll probably have an instant orgasam ! Are we allowed to say that??? :D
  23. It's hard sometimes not to be frustrated, but when I step back and look at the big picture, it's well over 10 pounds per month and that just reeks success! Hang in there, it will come off, as long as you keep doing what you are supposed to, it has no choice!
  24. To share or not to share is always a debated topic around here. I have not shared my surgery with anyone other than my husband and son, I only told him because he lives with us. I have always been a private person most things in my life and this is no different for me. I not embarrassed or ashamed, I'm just private. I believe people should do what is best for them. Period. I don't care if people think you are lying or whatever. This is a time when you need to do whatever you need to get through this journey. If for you, you are fine with talking about and sharing it then you should. If you are not comfortable with explaining and being the the focus of attention every time you eat, or are out with people, I would suggest keeping it to yourself. Once it's out, it's out. You can't unring a bell. Good luck with whatever you decide is best for you and best wishes on your weight loss journey! :)
