    Is one night enough?

My self pay price included two nights but I had zero issues or complications. I was keeping water down without nausea, and walking and overall doing great so I was giving the option to stay or go home. I chose to go home. You will know what is right for you. Some folks really need that second night. Better to stay a bit longer and be sure you won't end up dehydrated.

Well ladefreikenda! We don't so much alike anymore.
  6. Caffeine does not hurt your sleeve. Some surgeons say no caffeine forever, some say for a few weeks and some are offered caffeine in the hospital. The whole thing behind it is that it can be a diuretic and can irritate your sleeve while it is healing. Also, slight chance could cause ulcers if the irritation continues. Most folks enjoy caffeine again after surgery. I have been since 3 weeks out.

Who me? Dumb? Heck no! Stupid? Hell yes! Especially when it comes to electronics! I can finally admit it. There is a reason my husband calls me the user from hell!

Nope. I'm not on a laptop but notebook type thingy. That might give you a clue why success at the pic this has eluded me thus far. sigh...

    Average cost for self-pay

I paid $12,200 all inclusive in Dallas, TX. Included pre op testing, all the hospital costs, Dr's fees and two nights in the hospital. I only need one though. Also includes follow ups. Lots of top surgeons in this area, I guess Texans are a fat bunch.

    one more try...

I've had it explained to me over and over and over. I'm beginning to like my look. BTW: Not sure if you noticed, but we seem to look a bit alike.

    5 hours out - reporting :)

Do nurses get special gowns that actually cover your ass or did you have to have yours hanging out like the rest of us minions?

    5 hours out - reporting :)

That's because some of us paid them to tell you that!
  13. I don't usually say anything unless I know the person very, very well. I may notice and will compliment them in general by saying you are looking wonderful or something similar. It is very personal. Personally, I would rather people not say anything to me, my weight is not what I am about.
  14. It won't be long before you are wearing them! You will love your sleeve!

    WTF? Am I wrong?

You did the right thing. No question. Never, ever settle. Ever. This is not someone worth your time. It's sad that your friend does not know what a quality man is.

    Vacation advice 8 weeks out

I traveled 6 weeks out. It was as soon as I was cleared of all dietary restrictions. I did pack some Protein shakes. Put them in a zip lock, then in tupperware and they were fine. I also packed some string cheese. I was nervous but it was easier than I thought. Usually had seafood and steamed or grilled veggies for dinner and lunch was a sandwich without the bread. I also took some nectar Protein powder to mix with my Water to make sure I got it in. I have been enjoying a couple glasses of wine on the weekends since 6 weeks. My surgeon and NUT are fine with it as long as there are no issues getting in my water. I would try a drink at home first, it can affect you differently after surgery. I feel it a bit after a few sips but it quickly goes away and then I'm fine. I could nurse a glass of wine out and drive but would wait a good deal, but no way I could have more than that and feel like it was safe. If you will be off dietary restrictions at 6 weeks, try a few food things too, so you can see how they will sit in your new tummy.

    Flights to San Deigo

Southwest is great also American has a big presence in San Diego as does United. Gotta book a ticket to SD today. It's where I grew up. If you look on Orbitz or Travelosity and see a fare, always check the website for the carrier itself. They will most always beat the price and you are dealing with the airline itself not a third party.
  21. OMG! I almost sent my coffee spewing on the keyboard laughing so hard! Poor guy!

    Unjury chocolate splendor or classic?

I received that same email. I use a personal blender for my shakes and have had not problems at all.
