Mine was his only surgery that I know of that day. I was at Forest Park~Frisco. He does surgeries there on Wednesday. I want to think someone in the office said Forest Park~Dallas on Mondays and Presby on Tuesdays. Not sure about the other hospitals. -

Congrats Heather! You will love Dr. Nicholson. He is so calm and reassuring. -
Hope they were pretty and not the grannie panties!

Yes! I am down 1/2 size and those are getting loose. I was very surprised at this.

For me, it was weigh in, gave me a couple of remarks on the next phase of the diet and said have a nice day. Could have phoned it in. I asked her to check my blood pressure and she said she didn't have a cuff in this office. Really? Huh huh... It was less than 2 minutes from start to finish. Now the PA that saw me in the hospital was fantastic. I really think it's just Natalia ( I think that's her name) that is lazy. Every one else in his organization has been top notch from the front office back. -
My butt. My mom never had a butt. It was always flat and her pants sagged no matter what. We teased her about it. Well, the Karma fairy has come a callin.... Guess who has no butt and and the right sized pants and shorts sag??? Who knew? It's never been a problem before. I'm sure my mom is having a good laugh from above. I never could get the last word with her.

I saw her in the Plano office. I was surprised she didn't even look at the incisions. I even asked her if she was going to look at them and she just said no. I was really a waste of gas and my time, as was the 6 week post op. That is my only negative experience with the whole Dr. Nicholson experience. -

I did not have to drink the potassium. What was that for? -
When can you "try" steak?

I was cleared from any dietary restrictions at 6 weeks. I waited till about 2 1/2 months. It was wonderful! No issues at all. Hubby and I love steak and a nice bottle of wine but we share a 5 oz Omaha bacon wrapped filet and we still have a few bites left. Add some steamed broccoli and a baked potato for hubby and we have a feast! -
Your secret would be safe with me. I know how those things happen!

Maybe its because we are all food deprived?

Sheesh! Someone needs another cup of coffee! I read "Tiny Bowels." Boy is my face red!

It's not that I hate protein shakes
newat52 replied to NoneYa's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I think part of it is that your body is adjusting to a new pattern. Not eating anything until 5-6 is very hard on the body, it thinks its starving. Your body is now getting nutrients at a time when it's in starvation mode and probably is adjusting. Try to get on a schedule to feed it something every few hours. Even if it's only half a shake or bar. I actually split up my lean and green into two meals. One at lunch and one at dinner on my pre op so it would get on a regular schedule. When you are post op, it will be important to eat every few hours. After week one, I made it a point to have some Soup at regular times so my body would adjust to my new normal. It helped as I transitioned to soft foods and on to my new eating plan. You are doing great, keep it up. You will be so glad you did! -

Fresh fruits and veggies are a part of the eating plan for sure! Fresh, steamed grilled, baked! You name it! -

You won't get a better Protein for the oz! I drank the grape. Lots of people would add a bit of crystal light to them. They take just a little getting used to but they really helped me get in the much needed protein in those early days. Good luck! You will love your sleeve! -
While it is different now that I am sleeved, I can still order in most any restaurant. I have traveled a good deal since surgery (4 months now) and I am finding it increasing easy to find good things to eat. (and drink) I was really nervous at first but now it just seems normal. I think my very supportive husband has been more concerned that there is something for me when we go out. LOL!

Yep. Nice younger girl. She makes a lot of sense to me. They just seem to be able to keep it real.
-
I always get water because my NUT says its OK to drink until I start eating.

I couldn't agree more! I don't discuss medical issues of any sort with anyone outside my husband. Never have. Never will. My weight loss, gain or whatever the case may be is not up for discussion. Period. My weight is not what I am about. If that's all people have to talk about with me, I move on. It's really just that simple. I know some people have a hard time grasping this concept and think they owe anyone who asks personal questions of any sort an answer or explanation for anything and everything. I'm not one of them.
