    Any March Sleevers?

Thank you! I know it will come off as long as I do what I am supposed to. When I look at the whole picture, it's still 63 pounds from my pre op to now. In less than 6 months including pre-op. How can one think that is a slow loser? I sure cant! Funny, your stats are very similar to mine. People have been telling me I am just melting away and I have not seen it nearly as much. You really have, it gave me a perspective of what others might be seeing in me. Oh, Packer fan?

    Tired of boring plain water?

I make cucumber water. I just use a 2 quart pitcher and slice 1/2 to a whole cucumber depending on the size. I then heat about 2 cups water in the microwave for 2 minutes. Pour in the pitcher and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Add ice and water to fill and stir. I have meant to try other things but I just love the cucumber!

    Depressed, disappointed, regretful...

You're only two weeks post op and your body is still healing. Like the above posters say, it will get better. Hang in there, give it a few more weeks!

    Eating Ramen noodles raw?

Maybe look at it this way, while I can't even imagine how nasty that must taste, (in my opinion) for whatever reason you are wanting to eat those things. Imagine this, you put boiling Water on your raw Ramen noodles and what happens? As they absorb water they expand. They will do exactly the same thing in your newly sleeved tummy. No good can come from that. All the expansion leaves little to no room for the nutrition that you need so much. Not only that, but with no nutritional value, you will be hungry very soon and will do the same thing over again. Please step back and look at all you have gone through to get your sleeve. Someone paid for this wonderful opportunity. Do you really want to throw it away for a 10 cent package of nutritionally void crap? Just think about it, it's all I'm asking.

The difference between lose and loose...

Just helping! We spend the first 40 years of our lives trying to avoid a reputation. Then the next 30 hoping for one!

    Drinking...

I make cucumber Water. I slice a cucumber and heat 2 cups of water in the microwave for 2 minutes and dump in a 2 quart container with the water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes or so then add ice and fill the rest of the way. I drink one of them per day. It's just something different with water. Lots of spas have it for the clients. You could do any fruit as well, like pineapple, melons and such. I love it in the summer!

No, I really think she wants you to bite her! I heard she likes that kind of thing!

The difference between lose and loose...

Indeed it would! Hope everyone knows, no harm intended. I, for one, am one of the world's worst spellers and have to go back and edit what I post more often than not. I know we are not supposed to get on each other for spelling and grammar. I will not even use my iPad for this forum because of my spelling atrocities! Yes, they are that bad. For me and probably most of us, it's not really a rant specifically for this forum, it's life in general. We see it on Facebook and every other social media all the time. Our oldest son is, and always has been a spelling and grammar Nazi, I guess it's no wonder he got a journalism degree. I used to get my emails back when he was in college corrected. Seriously. While no one's abilities are being questioned we really were just having a bit of fun on a Friday morning with no harm intended. Everyone should feel welcome here. Happy Friday everyone! P.S. while it is now known that no harm is intended, one more for me. The whole texting thing. b4? U? GR8?Really kids, just spell it out, you can type faster with two thumbs than I ever could with ten fingers! How hard can it be? OK, NOW I'm done. Backing away from my computer.
  14. Happy birthday my fellow Leo! I knew there was yet another reason I like you! May all your birthday wishes come true!

The difference between lose and loose...

I can't keep quiet any longer. Your (eat your veggies) You're (you're about to eat your veggies) Whew! That feels better!
  16. I think what you are feeling is pretty normal. Maybe start out a bit slower, there will be things you can't eat for awhile but eventually you should be able to eat most anything. Perhaps now would be a good time to eliminate carbonation and caffeine? Once you get past that continue with some other things. One thing I really wanted after surgery as I was restricted was a nice salad. If that is something you love make up some great salads or whatever it is you think you might crave. You get my point. One of the best things you can do is get all the sugar and processed flour stuff out of your system, that will be the hardest thing but once you do, you will be glad you did. Good luck, you will do great! The emotions can get the best of us sometimes though!

    Need advice for sugar addiction

I gave up all processed sugar and flour on my pre op diet and now that I am almost 5 months out and can eat anything. I still have not had one single bite of a cracker, bread, chip or anything with processed sugar or flour. It is my slippery slope. I made myself a promise not to consume anything of the like until year's end. I think I need that time for me to adapt to my new me. I don't miss it right now and am ok but yesterday, I almost buckled and gave in as to not hurt someone's feelings. I have a group of friends and we meet for lunch once a month. We Celebrate birthdays, usually with just a card and small gift. My birthday is next week so we were celebrating mine. One of the ladies brought me a fancy cupcake with candles on it. I just cringed inside but thanked her. None of them know about my surgery but they do know that I have changed my diet. She was already annoyed with me because she had chosen the restaurant I commented that I was looking for a Pasta free dish and she asked why? I simply told her that I was not consuming any processed flour or sugar for the remainder of the year. She made a little comment about how it wouldn't hurt. I just said thanks but there is a great looking Cobb salad and changed the subject. About 5 minutes later it hit her that I may not eat the cupcake. She asked loudly so are you NOT going to eat that cupcake then? It got everyone's attention so now, all eyes were on me. I had to decide at that moment which was more important to me. My promise to myself or cave in and let someone pressure me? I decided in that moment that I was more important and worth keeping my promise to myself and just said, No, since I have made the commitment to not consume processed sugar this year, I would love to share it with you all or I can take it home and freeze it, it was so sweet of you to think of me though. She snapped at me and said, "well, I think you should eat anything you want, just eat less and you'll be fine." That pissed me off so I told her, "thank you, but I AM eating anything I want, however, I am also NOT eating what I don't want and I am very happy with my decision." That shut her up. A few minutes later I think she realized she was out of line and said, "you know, you should do what's right for you and I didn't mean to sound like I was telling you what to do." This is the place my mouth usually will get me in trouble but I just smiled and said, "thank you for saying that and I am doing what is right for me." I felt like It was a big victory for me, in realizing that I am worth following through with me! So, does this qualify as NSV??

    Need advice for sugar addiction

I'd like to say there is an easy way but we both know the only way to get them out of your body is to completely stop consuming them. The above poster is right, after 3 or 4 days you will be fine. Not going to lie and say it will be easy but during the time you are cleansing yourself, you may want to think about an activity or something else to consume so you know what your game plan is. Good luck, it will be so worth it!
  19. Please read this post again. And again. I couldn't have said it better. Please step back and take a look at your success before you take the next step. Good luck to you! Just curious, how much were you expecting to have lost 9 weeks out?

    My Sleeve is Working Great!

That is sleeve success. Watch most days and enjoy life the rest! Congrats on your success!
  22. Uh....yeah! It doesn't take long in this Texas heat! Smacking you upside the head right now! I am in North Texas and I go out and start playing in the garden (its an addiction for me) and it's all good, till it's not. When will I learn hot is hot?? In your defense, once we start healing and feeling better we think we can do anything. Isn't that feeling amazing?? Hope you are feeling better and take it easy on yourself!
  23. I don't tell tales. I don't lie about it. Not telling people you had surgery is not a lie. If people ask me how I am losing weight, I tell them. "I'm working very hard at it." True. If pressed, "I eliminated all proccesed carbs and eating clean and I change the subject." Again, true. When asked how much I have lost, (and this still boggles my mind how people would ask such a personal question) I tell them "a bunch." True yet again. That is the end of my good graces. Any further questions on how and how much are met with "you sure are asking a lot of personal questions, any real reason why?" When they are floored and stammer something to the effect of "well, I was just curious" I simply answer, "yes, I can see that." Subject is closed. I have never discussed my medical history, including my weight with anyone and don't intend to now. It's just highly personal for me. I don't understand why people feel compelled to answer any and every question put them till the asker is happy with the amount of information requested. Just because you are asked a question, does not mean you must answer it. If you want to keep it to yourself or chosen people, do so without guilt. It is your life and you need to do whatever you feel will help you succeed. Good luck, you will do great!
  24. Math is hard! In my defense, I'd only had half a cup of coffee and well, I'm special! Go for your dream! I'm really proud of you. You did not have an easy go of things in the beginning!
