    Ouch!

I did the same thing at 7 days post op. It got so bad that I couldn't hardly move which made it hard to get my fluids in. Long story short- got dehydrated and had to be admitted for 3 days for pain control and fluids. I came home with a pain patch and a prescription for oral pain meds too. Much better now, only a little sore.
  2. I was sleeved on the 19th and was doing really well until yesterday. Now I'm having severe pain near an incision. I asked the DR about it on Monday and like the previous poster said its from sewing through all the layers of tissue including the muscle. When will it stop?? It hurts so bad I can't even stand up. I dug out the abdominal binder I had from my hysterectomy and that helps some. Any other advice?
  3. Me too! 19th and 3 lbs since surgery. My belly is still really swollen.
  4. My daughter had the sniffles a few days before surgery. I couldn't go to the hospital without a hug so now I've got a sore throat and cough. Ouch! I've been taking robitussin but I still feel like I need a big deep cough to clear it out. And at 2 days post op a big deep cough is not an option. Any tips?
  5. Thanks. That's what I've been doing small little coughs and my daughters Hello Kitty pillow. I hope you feel better soon too!
  6. They repaired a small hernia on me too. Didn't even know I had one. I didn't start tooting until late last night. The burping felt better. I hope you feel better and get to go home soon.
  7. Just got home. Feeling pretty good. Only a little sore at the port sites. Nothing the Tylenol with codeine can't handle. Hubby is hearing up my broth now. Been tooting and burping which feels AMAZING!
  8. I agree. When I'm awake and able to get to in about 4 ounces in an hour It hurts for a few seconds on the last ounce.
  9. Yesterday was the day for me. I've officially been sleeved for 24 hours now. I had some gas pains at first but once I burped a few time it went away. Until then the heating pad really did help. I dont have a pain pump. Instead I have 2 soaker hose type things that are implanted down both sides of my belly that slowly release pain meds. The left side is working better than the right but still all in all the pain is not that bad. Easily controlled by the Tylenol with codeine I'm taking. I've only been able to get down about about 20-25 ounces of protein shake, jello, and broth in the last 24 hours. I can definitely feel it going down. It's a weird sensation. I hope all my fellow 19th sleevers are doing well. See you on the losers bench!
  10. I'm on my way to the hospital. This morning while getting ready I thought- I can't wait to be able to tie my shoes straight on instead of on the side.
  11. I've been on clear liquids and protein shakes for a week. No colon cleanse or anything like it. I do have to clean my tummy with special antibacterial soap tonight and in the morning.
  12. Thanks. Good luck to you too!
  13. They told me to clean my abdomen with the special soap they gave me but they didn't say anything else.
  14. Silly question- did anyone wear make up to the hospital on surgery day? I don't have to be there until noon. I'm wondering if I should put my face on in the morning or not.
  15. I'm Tuesday afternoon in St.louis. A little nervous. Right now I'm going through all my clothes from 12-20 and separating them by size. That way when they fit I can just move on to the next box.
  16. I'm on day 4. I went to bed at 8 last night rather than smell the sloppy joes my husband made for the kids for dinner. It's been rough but it's mostly in my head. I'm not feeling a lot of hunger pains.
