    Where is my March Sleeves?

I was sleeved on 3/13 and have lost 31 pounds since starting pre-op. Feeling ok - hitting a stall, but I've read it's quite common in this part of recovery.

    Purees not good..

Thank you all for your replies. To clarify, I was sleeved on 3/13 and in week 3 heading into 4 on Wed. I am taking a PPI so I wish that would solve the issue, but apparently not. I feel worse today than yesterday although I've managed to squeeze in more calories today than all day yesterday. Same with liquids. I've discovered orange flavor is ok so I have Vitamin Water and Gatorade. I know they aren't the diet variety, but at this point I'm thinking any non-caffeinated liquid is good if it's going down. Yesterday I was able to do a Protein shake, but today it was too sweet and too thick and was making me feel nauseous. I think I do need to take the time to slow down. I brought my baby spoons to work today so smaller bites and more time between bites is what I'm trying today. I don't feel all that great, but I think I'm just a little discouraged from the discomfort. Dean, as you described that "suspended feeling" is what I feel like all day long. Maybe Gas-X strips will help this weird full/bloated-yet-hungry-at-times sensation. I can't even begin to talk about getting in my Vitamins. Crushed in yogurt or applesauce has completely turned me off from both products with or without the vitamins. At this point I'm getting in my 2 Flintstones, b-12, & Biotin (both sub-lingual - in addition to my birth control pill and ppi. Calcium & Lysine are sitting in the pill pack staring at me. Thanks for all the suggestions - I'm going to try walking around the office now - unfortunately I can't escape too far as it's month/quarter-end reporting now.
  3. I started purée stage on Wed and I'm struggling more than I was on liquids. I constantly feel like I need to burp, but can't. I don't think I'm getting enough calories or liquids in. I'm panicking and thinking I might need to just go back to liquids. I am so thirsty but water, juice, crystal light, propel zero - nothing tastes right. Getting frustrated - what advice do you have?

    anyone having posture issues?

I've had evil pain in my shoulder blades since the surgery. It's gotten worse since yesterday when I came back to work. At first I considered it the gas pains that I've been told are common, but now at work I can't get comfortable at all. I was thinking maybe I got too relaxed while recouping at home. I'm going to my chiropractor this evening for my first adjustment since surgery. I hope this fixes the issues, otherwise I may need to invest a better bra or something.

    Measure jello?

Another question. What about sf Popsicles? Sorry to be brain dead, all the meds are confusing me and I'm trying to reassure my husband were on right path.

    Measure jello?

Is 4 oz of sf jello considered 4 oz of clear liquids?

    Any March Sleevers?

me! I'm March 13th - next Wednesday. I just submitted my final pre-op paperwork and I was given the green light. I was told I will hear Tuesday what time to show up at the hospital. I cannnoooootttt wait. I started my pre-op diet last week and I've lost 11 pounds so far. I'm so excited!!
  8. I have this weird sensation of feeling so full and bloated that if I were just able to burp, it would feel great. However, I get out a measly little burp out and then I feel like I'm hungry and somewhat nauseous and light headed. That feeling goes away quickly and then I feel full again. I'm on day three and have 11 days to go until surgery. Anyone else have this feeling - did Beano or GasX help for you? I need to go out and pick some up.
  9. I had a question that answers are purely of opinion, but I just wanted to know what others might do in my situation. I know some people do not have a pre-op diet required by their surgeons. My doctor does requires it and I started on Wednesday of this week. I'm managing OK two full days in, but I have a brunch meeting tomorrow that I cannot miss. Would you eat the most sensible item on the menu (high proten, low fat) or do your best to not eat at all? On my diet I am limited to 1,000 calories a day with at least 50g of Protein and no more than 35g of fat. I can have shakes, up to 2 cups of non-starchy veggies and 2 tbsp of non-fat salad dressing. I have been having 4-5 shakes (approx 200 cals) a day with plain non-starchy veggies throughout the day. So, let's face it... I'm not going to be able to sit there while everyone else is eating real food, while I pretend I am full from a shake and that I don't want anything. I'm thinking I could do a shake before I go and maybe do egg whites maybe some grilled veggies and a side salad with no dressing. If I had a choice I just wouldn't go, but I need to be there. Lend me your thoughts, ideas and strategies. Thanks in advance!
