I had dry skin preop but since I'm drinking water it's gotten better except my hands. I wash them nonstop so I put on lotion nonstop lol. -

Grocery shopping has been a chore. It takes forever because I read labels...compare...read more labels lol. I was debating some kind of bread when I found these, "Flatout No Crust Flatbread". Says 100% whole wheat and low fat. One flatbread has 60 calories, 1g fat, 12g carbs, and 4g protein. They are big enough I can cut it in half and make a sandwich for 30 calories and 6 carbs. I got kinda excited. I'm thinking mini pizza too! I'm going to make me a sandwich for dinner and the real test is... the taste. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Holy cow I thought I was doing great getting my 60 in. You drinking extra shakes? My biggest fear is plastic surgery. If I could do it without the drain tubes it wouldn't bother me but they make my stomache turn! -
I will have to check those out. I just made a sandwich and these are good! Very soft and doesn't taste like cardboard lol

Confused. Do we want to be in ketosis?
TexasMiss replied to TexasMiss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did stall but am out of it now. Losing 1/2 lb a day or so...just thought it would be more than that -
Confused. Do we want to be in ketosis?
TexasMiss replied to TexasMiss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can pretty much eat anything except citrus which I will add in a week and then I'm off any restrictions. I'm eating about 60-65 g protein and getting about 50 oz of water...still working on that one. I am tracking what I eat with MyFitnessPal and averaging 35 carbs a day. If I eat fruit then it's higher but don't very often. Right now I pretty much just eat all protein (meats, beans, cheese, hummus). I eat vegs, fruit, and breads sparingly but don't often because of the carbs. Don't know if I should keep it low and stay in ketosis or add more of the other foods and balance my diet. It's hard finding that sweet spot and what works for you. Really hoping my new job will pay for a nut! -
March Sleevers - what does your diet consust of
TexasMiss replied to Jazzy1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was 3/1 so I'm almost 6 weeks postop and can now pretty much eat anything...citrus fruits next week. I'm still scared of strawberries because of the seeds but am dying to add some to my vanilla protein shake with banana. Anyone else eating them? -

Looking for a book to read!

She is similar to C. Harris. I'm re-reading the Hollows books right now. The main character is Rachel, an FIB agent (not FBI) who is also a witch and she's a clutz! Like she will make a sleepy time potion and then knock herself out with it lol. She ends up leaving the FIB and becoming a bounty hunter for the supernatural which all lives openly in the general population. She ends up livinging in an old church and her partners are a vamp and a family of fairies that live in her garden. If you like Harris and Hamilton you will like these too -
Solution for Gagging Down Premier Protein Shakes
TexasMiss replied to skinnyginny's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I tried adding a little milk to mine and my tummy was not happy with it. First time I tried to drink milk though. I will tell on myself lol. I put 1/2 teaspoon of Nestlé Quik in mine and it's just enough to cover that aftertaste. I count the 15 calories, 4 carbs, and 4 sugars in it...not ideal but it's the only way I've found I can get the whole thing down. -

I love Laurell K. Hamilton. We read a lot of the same stuff. Have you read Kim Harrison? -
Ugh...cottage cheese. I had a 20 day preop consisting of protein drinks and cottage cheese. I want to gag thinking about it. Not sure I will ever eat it again! Lol

I have scatica and hadn't had any problems in forever until the day after surgery it flared up. I think it was the horrible hospital bed and only laying on my back. Mine started with the numbness and quickly moved to the pain radiating in my thigh like I am being shocked. It hurts! Been to the chiro 3 times and also bought a tens unit and it really helps.

I'm 5 weeks post op Friday. I've never been a breakfast person, and the shakes don't go down well in the mornings so I eat something solid. I drink my shake about this time of night when I get comfy and watch my shows. It's that last snack after dinner and the chocolate gives in to that sweet craving I always ate this time of night (it's not Oreos and milk but hey, those days are over lol). Do you think I need the protein earlier in the day? I'm up to 65g a day now including the shake.

When do you drink you shake?

I've read that too. I decided to switch it up today and drink an IsoPure since I boght them and their in the fridge. I put 10 oz IsoPure, G2 fruit punch, and put a little strawberry lemonade crystal light in and it's pretty yummy!
