quickly full but hungry every couple hours
TexasMiss replied to KimmieMarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat every three hours. I know some people on here say you can't get "hungry"..well, I do. Hi my name is Jana and I get hungry lol. It's not a hungry like before, but more of an empty feeling. I can still only get about 2 oz down...maybe if I could eat the full 4 oz I wouldn't eat as often lol. -
4 weeks post op no weight list in a week
TexasMiss replied to staceysassygal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 weeks and 2 days out. I've been stalled for about two weeks now. I'm eating around 800 calories, 60-65g protein, under 30 carbs, getting my 64oz in, being active, and the scale won't move. Including my 20 day preop, I lost 38 lbs in the first 34 days and then it stopped. I'm having faith in my sleeve that it's going to work, but as Laura suggested to me the other day, my body needs time to adjust and play catch-up. I've put it through a lot recently! -
Tried a lot but ended up with premiere protein in choco and vanilla.

I love the 100% juice fruit cups, especially the pears. Can you have that? SF pudding doesn't have to be refrigerated..

1 month post-op, am I eating too much?
TexasMiss posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am one month post op, and hit a stall about a week ago. I started using my fitness app to track what I was eating to see if that was the problem. Found out I was averaging 450-500 calories and 40ish on protein. So this week I changed to a higher protein drink and make sure I eat my snacks if I'm hungry or not. The last three days I've hit 800 calories, 60g protein, and getting all my water in. Am I eating too much too soon? -
1 month post-op, am I eating too much?
TexasMiss replied to TexasMiss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Already checked into it before I went to Mexico, and they only pay if your diabetic. My PCP gave me a referral, but when I returned to work after surgery, they told me don't come in tomorrow were shutting the doors. Needless to say its been quite the month. Soooo, when I find another job I will look into the nut again. I just cant justify an extra expense right now. Then again maybe the new job's insurance will pay for it. Knowing my luck they would cover the surgery too after I just paid out of pocket! Went on an interview yesterday, and the job sounds great...plus it's down the street from the new health and wellness center the hospital opened. They have nuts on staff full time, a full gym, a pool, nuitrition classes, the works! Keeping my fingers crossed! Don't ask me why I just told you all that...think being cooped up in this house is getting to me LOL.. But yes, I have looked into it -
1 month post-op, am I eating too much?
TexasMiss replied to TexasMiss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ya know I've really been impressed with the sleeve. I was a Dr Pepper addict and haven't touched one in two months since before the pre-op. The only thing sweet I've had is SF Bomb Pops and those are legal. I LOVE pasta and havent even had a craving for it or fried foods. Maybe it's a mental thing and I'm just more determined. I think after a 20 day liquid only pre-op diet, anything solid I put in my mouth is wonderful even though it's healthy lol -

Wish I could John. Had surgery in Mexico so I dont have the luxury of a nut, and have a one page sheet (front and back) of everything I should "know" post-op from the doc. Laura, the extra calories are coming from the Snacks. For example I will have a 2% string cheese, hummus, etc. for snack. The Protein drinks have 20 more calories...switched to Premiere since you and a lot of the others speak highly of them. I know I'm not getting overly full. My dogs are loving it. I will heat up 2 turkey meatballs and they just look at me like...just give it to us...you know your not going to get that second one in lol. Part of my problem before this week was I didn't feel hungry so I didn't eat. I had a protein drink and maybe one meal. Didn't want my body to go into starvation mode so decided to make myself eat more...that and my hair falling out!! :/ -
I can't eat a whole egg, but I hate eggs and have to force every bite down lol. After a couple days I quit torturing myself and ate yogurt instead...which is the less of two evils lol

That's it! The scale hasn't moved all week but I'm supposed to start Friday. I'm going to have faith it will move again soon!

How often do you weigh yourself
TexasMiss replied to Joe I's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weigh daily...I know, I know. It hasn't moved in a week so I'm ready to throw it outside...let it spend it's nights alone in the cold and dark. -
I'm 4 weeks tomorrow and the scale didn't move this week. It's very frustrating!

My yogurt shop has wonderful! SF french vanilla frozen yogurt. I had some the other day (its on my list). I wish I had a camera to take a pic of the cashiers face when I put that huge bowl on the scale with my ounce of frozen yogurt lol. Came out to .58!

Anyone having trouble sleeping
TexasMiss replied to alswifey's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm 3 1/2 weeks out and I still can't sleep through the night. Can't even take a nap in the afternoon which is so unlike me. Been this way since the first night in the hospital. I'm really hoping I get back to normal soon! -
Off post op restrictions, scared to eat regular!
TexasMiss posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So today I'm off my post op diet. Introduce new foods one at a time, no tough meats, chew chew chew, etc. I thought I would be excited but I had refried Beans for lunch again lol. I have a few questions for you seasoned vets out there. I crave fresh veggies...specifically a cucumber. I hesitated over a seedless English cucumber at the store today. My question is when were you able to tolerate raw veggies? pineapple is my fav too but I'm scared to death of the acidicness and membranes! Also, Protein bars. How far out did you eat one? I had surgery in Mexico so I don't have the luxury of a nut...would appreciate you input! -
4 days post op -- REGRETTING THIS SURERY
TexasMiss replied to dat_sweetmami's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Oh the gas pains. You lean to one side it moves to your shoulder. You lay down it moves to the top of your chest. The more I moved and walked the more it disappeared. Hang in there it does go away. -
smokers... er... ex smokers
TexasMiss replied to Mastiff_mama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I quit cold turkey in November after 15? yrs. I got a craving one time about a month and a half ago, and after one drag I wanted to puke. It tasted horrible! When I had surgery, the girl in the next room kept opening the window in our shared bathroom and smoking. Everytime I got a whiff of it I would start dry heaving! I would have never thought just the smell would have done that to me. Hang in there girl...stay strong...you can do it! -

I bought chicken fajita meat and Beans from my fav local Mexican place. Shredded the chicken over the beans, added some cheese and a tiny bit do ff sour cream and mmmm mmmm. Tastes like the chicken fajita nachos I get there but without chips! I agree with the salad. My parents ate these mouth watering salads the other day with grilled chicken on them and every veggie imaginable. Everytime they eat in front of me they apologize lol.. I just say its ok...I'll get there. But in this instance I just wanted to grab their salads and go hide with them lol. It's the little things I look forward to -
Getting sleeved in April...is any one from Texas on this site?
TexasMiss replied to c0c0's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey...Odessa here. Was sleeved 3/1 and am 19 days post op..down 36 lbs! It's quite the adventure -
Refried beans with cheese and sour cream, and half a smashed pair. It was magnificiant! I'm loving the mushy stage...food again!
-
Mine lasted about three days. My PCP put more on because two on the incisions weren't glued but the new ones lasted a day. They just didn't like me lol.
-
I'm questioning that also. I love oranges but am avoiding citrus. I tried some low cal pink lemonade and it tore me up from 2 sips it was so acidic. It's one of those things I love but will be a loooong time before I try citrus again!

I had a drain for two days, and it didn't bother me. My IV annoyed me more. Now, I'm not going to lie. It was very unpleasant when the removed it. I swear it was attached to my ovaries because I felt it all the way down between my legs! LOL 8-)

Protonix (Pantoprazole) Pre-Op - Will I be Able to Take it Afterward?
TexasMiss replied to Khloé's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr put me on protonix post op but my pill is small and goes down easily (40 mg).
