    Having second thoughts!

I had the same concerns. My date was 2/4. I was so nervous I ordered my husbands valentines day gift to be delivered and wrote sealed letter to him and each of my kids. The only problem Ive had is getting 60 grams of Protein down a day. No complications what so ever. After 10 days the pAin has subsided and I go back to work next week. Do your research on your surgeon. Remember they dont want any mistakes or complications just as much as you dont.
  2. Emily. I have bcbs of Michigan though and it was soooo simple. My insurance kicked in dec 1. My first consult with the surgeon was Dec 8 and was was sleeved yesterday Feb 4. I hear bcbs is the easiest to get approved. I didnt have any of that 6 month diet or anything. Ur pcp will play a huge role though. Talk to ur primary doc because sleep apnea shortness of breath and fatigue seems minor. But helps a lot with ur approval. Dont worry. Your husband is right. You'll get approved and when its ur time you will love it!! Keep your head up????
  3. After 24 hours here in the hospital and packing my bag, the only things Ive touch out of it is brush toothbrush toothpaste and chap stick. I packed nightgowns and my laptop etc. thinking I would need it Yeah right I havent even turned the TV on yet

    February Sleevers

Jlb15 Thank you, I know exactly how you feel. There were only a hand full of people I decided to tell and about half of those people had their opinions and their negativity but the other were excited for me. Surgery went really well. It started at about 915 and I was in my room at about 1. The medications they are using are really good. Really really good lol, havent felt much pain at all. Was up walking at about 3 no problems there either. Once I started using the spiro (whatever)for breathing. That was painful because u get air bubbles every time blow but it quickly goes away. Btw. This was my first surgery too. All in all wouldnt change a thing so far. I yours will go just as easy breezy as mine, I know it will!!!
  5. IV in. Antibiotics started. 15 mins. Til my new life starts. Scared and excited at the same time.

    Hi I'm new and lost!

The few that Ive told (including the husband) has been dead set against it. I find myself having to explain exactly what the procedure is and the benefits of it. I found that they were against it because they didnt know what it was or its purpose. Everyone thought it was an " easy way out". I am happy to say once my husband went with me to all the preop appts, he now understands and is 100% supportive and to me thats the only person that really matters.
