I need a good tasting protein shake
Indigoflgrl replied to sleeve_sister's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There r other options protein powders in food you like. Total nutrition where I buy my shakes that I hate, also has bars. There is also bariatric choice which sells all kinds of high protein foods like pudding oatmeal etc etc. I think they are a little pricey but none the less. -

Did you keep your surgery a secret?
Indigoflgrl replied to KanesMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told a couple of people at work that I thought would keep it hush hush. They did until there was a meeting and my supervisor who was new announced to the whole staff we were going to b short handed and one of the reasons was i was going out for surgery! Then the questions started flowing!! Some one let the cat out of the bag and then everyone knew. I figured screw it now i just talk to anyone that has questions. I was upset but I guess I should have just said nothing to anyone. I talked to my kids about how they felt my daughter just said it would be weird to have a skinny mom. Lol Also my partner knew she was not excited about it but understood. Her worry was about the surgery after that I could never asked for anyone more supportive!!! -
It may stretch my sleeve it may not. Its not worth the risk! I was told no carbonation. I stopped soda six months before my surgery. I was a 2 liter a day diet soda drinker. Even if I never lose another lb its not worth gaining the ones back i've lost to find out if it will stretch!!

My doctor says slow progress maybe due to my meals being in the night as thats when I work. Was wondering how any one else's eating schedule is that may work this shift. -

399 lbs end of story... -
I had the gastric sleeve October 23, 2012. When I debated about having this surgery I decided if I couldn't conform to all the rules for six months I would never succeed and there was no point in the surgery. So as I jumped through every hoop for my insurance and had to wait their six month wait, I changed everything. No soda, no caffeine, all protein diet, waiting 15 min after liquid for food etc etc etc. I did it all and managed to take hold your breath my 399 lb body down 48 lbs by my surgery date. I had promised myself I would lose 40 and everything else was gravy. I then lost 17 post surgery and I was thinking piece of cake! So now I am down 25 since the post weight loss and its slow moving. All those doubts did this work did I some how stretch my sleeve. What if 90lbs is all I get would I be happy with that!! Hell no!!! I want to look and feel normal! For many here 100 is their goal for me its still at least 100 to go. It can sometimes be very over whelming. What can you do but keep going. I didn't get here over night and I'm not going to lose it that way. Big family wedding in Feb and still feel all those same insecurities from 90 lbs ago. Who would have thought?
