Introduction - Hello every one
Jeannine replied to acummins73's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Alicia, I was sleeved the day before you. I definitely do get hungry. Some of it is head hunger but some is physical for me. I am lucky so am drinking protein shakes with milk and having no problem..so far.... I find I crave protein and am allowed soft foods now so tuna, eggs hummus, mashed beans are my friends. I have had a little constipation but stool softeners really helped me. I am getting far less than 60 oz of water in a day. -
Hi! I am newly sleeved from Scotland
Jeannine replied to MaDunx's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 2 weeks out and have found 2 palatable brands of powdered Protein. You can order online. They are called About Time and unjury. I like vanilla and chocolate splendor I also have PB2 powdered Peanut Butter. I add to my shake and with 1 and 1/2 scoops of Protein powder, 1% milk and the pb2 I have a shake that tastes great and is over 40 grams of protein! I also add ice to my shaker. Hope this helps. -
I too will be 2 weeks on wed. But I don't have the pain you are describing. I hope all is ok with you. Plz let us know.

IM SCARED ...HAVING LAST MINUTE BAD THOUGHTS ABOUT WHAT CAN GO WRONG DURING SURGERY :’(
Jeannine replied to dat_sweetmami's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was sleeved on 3/6. I had compression boots in hospital and am still on louvenox injections once daily for 2 weeks total. I did lots of ankle pumps and walked halls the night of my surgery. Making sure to get plenty of activity. I also had much trepidation the few days prior to my surgery. I thought of everything that could go wrong and quite honestly, almost pulled my I.V. And left hospital the. Morning of. As was mentioned, there's always risk with surgery but it is minimal. I am so very sorry for the poor man who lost his life. It's a real heartbreak to hear this. Will someone tell me when was his surgery and when did he pass? -
My story 10 days post-op
Jeannine replied to paradog79's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Great recap! The very best to you! I was sleeved on 3-6-13 and am doing well too )) -
Monica, I am so happy for you! How wonderful it has to be for you. I love to read stories such as yours. They inspire me. I was sleeved a week ago tomorrow. I weighed 209.9 lbs on day of surgery. That was down 5 lbs from preop limitations. I'm trying to weigh myself once weekly so tomorrow is the 1st weigh in since surgery. My goal is 135 lbs. when I read such amazing stories it reinforces that I can reach my goal!

Less than 24 hours to go!
Jeannine replied to pammie37's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm sorry to hear that and hope the challenges lessen as time goes on. From what I hear each day can be different so I'm breathing no sigh of relief. We are in it for the long haul now. I hope I won't miss food too terribly. I psychologically miss it tonight. My body feels some hunger but much of it is in my mind. I really hope you feel better and are able to increasingly hold fluids down. -

I am home it's 2 days post op. going well. Just bit of a struggle as far as getting the protein in on clear liquids. I am sipping isopure I can't sip too much or I get an uncomfortable feeling in my chest so don't know about 60 grams. Will keep trying though. So glad to read about all that were sleeved and did well. It's going to be so exciting to reap the rewards! -

Tomorrow 3/6 is my gastric sleeve surgery too. I am very nervous, all kinds of things going through my head. I'm on clear liquids today. I hope and pray that my surgery goes smoothly as many of yours have. I was scheduled 2/26 but had to reschedule due to the death of my niece. Reading all the posts here are so helpful. -
Shannon, how wonderful ! I'm very happy for you. It's also what I love to hear as I am scheduled to be sleeved next Wednesday, the 6th of March. I'm pretty nervous and hope I will do well too.

JUST GOT THE CALL...I'VE BEEN APPROVED..MARCH 19TH..OOMMGGGG
Jeannine replied to dat_sweetmami's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My surgery is next wed march 6th I have to do 2week preop and have cheated a few times but still down 7 lbs and hope to be down 10 before wed. I have 70 -80 to lose and will be the size I was in my 20s! Just want my pre diabetes and hypertension to go away and extend my life as much as possible. The benefit of thinness is something I haven't felt for over 30 years. I am so anxious to be done and healed and watch the scale go in the right direction. Congrats to those who posted about their surgery approval today! So happy for you!, my best friend was sleeved in July of 2011 she lost 140 lbs total-about 28 pre surgery. She looks and feels wonderful! -
Good luck! Let us hear from you when you're able

What a 150 lb weight loss looks like...
Jeannine replied to nikki82's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You look beautiful! I know that same person existed no matter what you weigh but I compare it to the butterfly emerging from a cocoon. You can fly free now. You're an inspiration to me and I hope to make the most of my sleeve. -
Glad to hear of another sleeved and being in touch here. I hope each day brings a better day for you! I am going in next week. Take care and keep us advised.

You look wonderful! Don't be embarrassed about yourself ever, I'm sure you must feel so very proud now. You look amazing and must feel unbelievable! -
I really enjoyed reading your story. It seems as though many of us have many commonalities some which led us to the weight issues we have/had. I applaud you for your accomplishment I hope I can do my sleeve the same justice I'm scheduled 2/26 and find that my thoughts and feelings are all over the place at this point in time. Keep up the great work!
