GOT FILLED LAST MONDAY, TOO TIGHT NOW! What should I do?
amoro68 replied to KarenB's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi everyone, I have a question is PB just feeling like some food or drink wants to come up a little or is it just throwing up. I experience (when I forget to chew or eat too fast) the feeling of it coming up but I don't always throw up. What kind of damage can this do? At times I do actually give it up to Ralph but its usually from lack of chewing well. I got my fill 3 weeks ago and it really has made a difference but this week I am able to eat more comfortably but the scale went up 1.5. could this be to the fact that I was consuming so very little after the fill and now my body is adjusting to more realistic meals or is my metabolism so shot that any bit of food makes me gain. By the way, this is a serious question. Aurora -
down 1.5 lbs now at 213.5. I happy it's going down but wish it were faster. I can't complain too much, I haven't start exercise yet but this is the first week I will. Wish me luck. Contrats to all.

HI My hard work did it but the fill is now gonna get me past the next hump. I just got back from my fill in MX. Doc gave me 2cc. Boy am I tight. I was on liquids for three days! just started eating again but very small quantities. I've been kinda doing no effort to lose weight and really want to begin making healthy choices and possible some exercise. Thought thought of that is scary. I feel like I can't do much, I am sooooooo out of shape.

Hi, I am about to be banded on January 28 2005. I am so excited! I feel I am getting a real chance in fighting and winning my battle with obesity. I am 5 foot 3 and weigh 231 lbs. I feel this is going to save my life! With that said, I am also scared out my mind. I am going to Mexico to have an operation because my insurance here in the US won't cover it and it's too expensive out of pocket. Does anyone know this doctor? I found him on the site of litenfree.com. The surgery will be perform at the OCA hospital in Monterray. Thanks

I'm done 1.5 lbs. I find it amazing. I've been eating alot more lately and I think it's time for my first fill. I find I lose more when I eat more, perhaps I was eating too little.

what is pouch dilation? Is it dangerous? what can happen if it occurs? I have been experiences swelling (not all the time) around the port area and it kinda feels like a pain in your side when your walk or run too much. Can this be the reason?

okay guys, I need help. I weighed myself today and I am up 2lbs. to 220.5 I don't get it. I am definately eating alot less than ever before. I am not really hungry though . I was banded 3 1/2 weeks ago. Could it be I am eating too little and my metabolism is slowing down. I am also really tired and feel abit anemic. I am so disappointed I just don't get it. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! you all are so great. It's amazing to see others who have endured and suffered the same torments as myself. I never take photos, I hate them. I always look wayyyyyyyy fatter than I see myself in the mirror. I thought I was nuts. Apparently you all are nuts too (lol) or there's something to this dismorphic disorder. I wonder, what came first for me. the disorder or the fatness?!

hi guys, I'm back! Sorry it's been so long, I have been without internest for over a week! Also just to update, I got banded on 1/14/05 and have been okay. But over the last 2 days I have major heart burn and gas (not the farting kind:)) but in my stomache. It even makes my throat hurt. Is this GERDS or is this normal right after surgery and does it eventually go away? It's very uncomfortable though I am happy to say I've lost 11 lbs. -
Okay, I'm in too. I keep weighing myself as if it's gonna change by the second. As of Monday 1/17 I weigh 228.

I spoke to my doc re: fills. If I go back to Mexico, I have free doctor fees for life and free fills with flouroscopy, 1 nights stay at a hotel, and transportation to and from airport for the next 2year. After, I pay 125 for flouroscopy an I get hotel and transport but doc fees are nilch. I also contacted the local doctor I will probably use most of the time and he chard 230.00 per fill under flouroscopy

The lap band is a very positive experience for him. He's probably wondering if I can be banded a couple times a year;)

Rainsunbow, I am being band on Friday. I too was on the fence with the bypass and the band. I personally have met 8 people with bypass. All have done really well and no major complications. They do however suffer from diareah, gas, some their bodies don't absorb enough protein and feel crappy 1/2 the time. This is a very personal choice. I chose the lap band because I didn't not want to be thin at the cost of quality of life. I've already done that most of my life by being over weight and unable to enjoy living. The risks in my opinion are too high. Our digestive system was design to work a certain way. That is why there are so many problems with the bypass. The lap band though slower in results, doesn't change our anatomy. Yet it allows us to work with our anatomy. I wish you well.

I am getting banded in 3 days and I didn't think it would be possible for awhile at least 3 weeks. With that said, I've been trying to condense three weeks worth into 2 days cuz the 3rd day is surgery day

I agree with both of you, I believe there should be no bashing and the hospital should be clean and up to code. I have chosen to continue on with my surgery and not listen to what I was told. I have done extensive research and am confident with the doctor I have chosen. Thank you all for responding. Blacknamaste, thank you for sharing your experience with Dr. De La Garza. I will let you all know how it went when I return this Sunday. -

Hi everyone, Just one to say that I had inquired with another reputable dr. and now I was told by the other doctor (not the one I chose) that the one I did choose was not so hot. That his med. facility OCA hospital was really old. And that though I got some references with my buddies here at the forum, that some people from the forum were actually employees of the doctors who did this to recruit patient. Is any of this true or was this just in bad taste. -
Hi Infaith, thanks for the support. I am more of afraid of me than the actual surgery. I don't make healthy choice and I want to start. I haven't do to many reasons, one of them being I kinda have given up and the other is really making the commitment to myself. I hope that with this surgery, I can have the extra help I need to stay commitment.

thanks for the info. I need to remember this because I am nortorious for eating too fast and taking large bites.
