    Insensitivity

I agree with everyone else. This is mean and inappropriate. I work in a similar sort of environment. (Law office) only problem is, my boss is the owner, he is the attorney. And he runs the show there. He is quite opinionated about his hate for overweight people. Ironically enough, he used to weigh 400 pounds. He lost most of it with diet and exercise. And now he feels like he can just talk about and ridicule everyone that's isn't 105 pounds. My supervisor (his paralegal, and friend of 11 years) joins him in constantly talking about other people and their appearances. Luckily, they've never directly said anything to me. But they don't really have to to make me feel uncomfortable. And if I have a problem with it, there is not much I can do. He is the boss, and owner. I'm having Sleeve surgery 3/8. But I refuse to disclose what type of surgery im having to them. If they refuse to give me the time off, I'll just start looking for another job. Sorry you're going thru this. Sucks having to work for a-hole people. Don't let him get to you. Xoxo!
  9. Surgery date is March 8!!!

  12. I was planning on coming with my boyfriend. But he's not being as supportive as I thought. So I may end up going alone. Either way, the point is I'm going. Lol
  13. You look great! Happy for you!!! I'm next:)
  14. Yeah people will freak out when you say mx. Luckily my mom accepted it and didn't object. She knew I did my homework on it an how much I want it. But I didn't tell anyone else. Id rather not Have to deal with all the comments and questions. I'm a fairly private person
  15. I'm having surgery March 8. I haven't requested time off work YET. I work in a small law firm about 7-8 people. All gossip-ers... Very opinionated group of people, not the most pleasant to say the least. I want to request the time off but don't want to disclose the exact procedure I am having. Any ideas? Thoughts? Anyone else have this issue? Help Please!!
  16. Awesome me too! 3/8 also in Tijuana. Dr. Garcia
  17. Amanda Rae, are you pre or post op?
  18. You guys are all right, it isn't their business!! I'll just keep it private. They may not like it but they'll have to accept it, AND pay me:) lol
  19. That would be awesome. I'm getting there march 7. I'm excited and nervous. Are you going alone or flyin with support?
  20. I meant legally speaking, if I refused to disclose the info could they NOT pay me for the time I'm out.
  21. Yeah, in my office everyone is very open about their vacations etc. so I think they will ask... But I will request it and if they ask why so long, ill say medical leave. And keep I private. Because I will be using my PTO I figured that if they required a reason why I'd have to give them specifics.
  22. Thanks for all the ideas. I think I'm gonna say hiatal hernia if they ask, just because its less common then gallbladder surgery.... And provide a note that describes it as "abdominal surgery".
